Great work wynken and cleanbee - I have made a good start with the dishes and have nearly caught up. I hope to finish before the next lot starts piling up.
Sorry to hear about the fruit bowl wynken - hope that it wasn't too precious.

cleanbee and jendela. fruit bowl was a lovely shape, clear and fine glass, a gift from dsis. It was one of the things I liked. I'll haul out something else for my bananas. Dishes washed tonight.

I'm tackling the kitchen next now almost all of my disaster of a room is done. I'm thinking I have far 2 many dishes. I think that is adding to the mess. I don't wash dishes until I have 2. Perhaps IG I have less I'll be forced to wash them more often.

Welcome lissa23. Its great to have us here. Lots of people do toss or box to put away excess dishes. No doubt like most of us you will find getting getting the dishes washed much easier when you have less of them.

dishes washed tonight. Well done papermoon. Getting them done is its own reward. imo. I agree about the broken bowl. I'm glad it had passed into everyday usage.

Good work wynken, nearly all dishes washed here. Maybe a perfect score tomorrow, but 80% is good enough for today

Perhaps IG I have less I'll be forced to wash them more often. I recommend having minimal dishes. Then you *have to* wash what you just used, and they *can't* pile up. Or, if you can afford it, use paper plates and cups for a while so you can catch up on other cleaning. If you have lots of nice dishes that you really don't want to give away, pack them up and store them, and just keep a few in the kitchen.

Here's a bit of wisdom I acquired from being on this thread and doing the dishes daily... When I wasn't doing my dishes regularly, I put a LOT of mental energy into dreading it, even while I was washing them. But by doing them regularly, that energy has instead gone into fine-tuning my washing method and finding more efficient ways to wash up quickly and cleanly. So the task is no longer a dreadful one, which is way healthier for my head and home.
