wynken thank you. The effort and revoltingness of unblocking the sink was so worth it. I have decided that if I can have a star every day for the rest of May I will buy myself a houseplant...then I can put it on the kitchen windowsill and make my washing up environment nicer I hope you do have another go at doing your charts It was so nice to only have to do the breakfast and pet washing up this morning and not the usual mountain.

Caught up - washed up 2 days worth. It took 15 min, and I'd been dreading it.

I'm like 90% done with my dishes. I'll need to heat up more hot water to wash a greasy frying pan.

Hooray, I've done another half-month of daily dishes. Life is good... at least in my sink it is.

I have done 2 rounds of hand washing today, together with the dishwasher. I even washed some of the good glassware in preparation for putting it away.

I hate dishes. An inkling why, but anyway. I have a dishwasher, but it only cleans about half the dishes, no matter how lightly I load it. It did start doing better when the landlord (different issue-tub flow problem) turned up the hot water heater. It may be water pressure issue, it may be a low quality dishwasher. So, once an items comes thru the DW yet is unclean, I set it aside to hand wash. I've tried sending it thru again, but it always knows to reject that item again. So, my K is full of "to be re-washed" items. Blech.
Loaded DW yesterday morning, ran it yesterday evening.
This morning, I put 3 pots on to soak. Help, me Rhonda! Help, help me Rhonda! ...not leave them sitting until the water is sludge...

A suggestion for mouseanne re dishwasher rejects - have a bucket of water to soak them in. It should help the stuck bits to come off. Commiserations on the need to double/triple/quadruple handle dishes etc.
