Hooray for DS, DH, and YOU, RoadRunner! I'm not sure what the state of the dishes is...I'll go look in a bit...The state of the floor is awful - toys, and various bric-a-brac strewn around. DH & the kids will be gone most of the evening...I need to do some online work...I'm not sure anything will get done in there today. We shall see!

Dishwasher loaded with daily load and plates from dinner hand washed with daughter learning. She did all the silverware by herself.

Great job everyone! Well done! We're fairly drowning in dishes over here. 2 days out of the house, and 4 days out of the habit, and ick. Hoping to get back on track soon!

Need to put away 1 load of dishes and wash and put away another load before 5 a.m. The tricky part will be sorting a cabinet to put the dishes in.

I haven't been here very much lately, but I have been keeping up with the dish washing. It doesn't seem like as much of a chore as it used to.

I caught up with mine while dinner cooked a meal from scratch, with fresh veg last night. Earlier I'd emptied the sink of the waiting ... and rinsed off as needed, and stacked it so it had the appearance of being more doable. All of the above was a triumph for me. Of course today there is some doing the waiting game. MMimi would say 'job security'.
wtg all who have kept the job going at their place.

Many years ago, I was on a forum for serious money saving. It was mostly desperately skint people, asking questions like 'I've got £5 to feed five people for.the next two week's, and people would give tips. I learnt a lot about nutrition, frugality, and basic oldfashioned cooking from that website. Anyway, the best tip, that I'd actually forgotten about was using biological washing powder on saucepans and baking trays. I only remembered it this morning when I ran out of washing up liquid. I wouldn't recommend it on any special finishes like Teflon, but on stainless steel it works so well. I just left my mankiest pans in the bowl, and it worked a miracle. And all the components of my food processor are nice and shiny too I know there's probably some health issues about using washing liquid in the washing up bowl, but I'm not too worried. My daughter has been chewing on her sleeves washed in the same detergent since she was a baby, and anyway I rinse everything until all the scent has gone. (the kids had a shock when they walked in the kitchen and saw me sniffing the carving knife, ) Anyway I just thought I would share this if anyone is interested. It really makes dishes a lot easier (and nicer smelling)
