cleanbee - We'll keep singing out to you until you find the path again. Wash something up - and you are on your way, even if you aren't caught up yet. woohoo jendela. I need to get back to sooner rather than later. I like it best when they are done, and I have screenless time before bedtime. They are done daily at least.

loaded and ran DW three times today. Need to unload the last load before bed. Washed all the pots and pans by hand except one that needs to soak. Blender container is also soaking. Swiped dish drainer and shined sink. Also dismantled and washed the three fridge door shelves. So got it all done. Now just have to keep up. Thank you keeping the torch lit wynken ETA: unloaded DW and dish drainer.

cleanbee woot on swooping on those dishes etc. Wow - Fridge is sparkling. I call back in here as others do. I'm getting earlier at doing mine in the evening, and getting to bed too.

I thought that I would "drop by" to say that I've again been successful at doing the dishes daily. It takes a fair amount of self-discipline for me to do this, but it is very much worthwhile!

The self discipline is the thing Arid. Hopefully I'll get happier to do them as I am happier to have them done. Change of mindset there.

cleanbee well done on the dishwashing marathon! Good job Arid and wynken. I continue to leave my evening pots and pans until the morning, although I always stack the dishwasher before bed and ensure the kitchen is 'catproof'. The reason I prefer doing my dishes in the mornings is the opportunity to look out the kitchen window into our small backyard. Even if the weather is cold and wet, it is always a pleasure to see outside.

Bumping this thread back up. Our dishwasher died last week. I've been playing cleaning bingo in a facebook group, and made dishes at least 1 of my 15 min time slots each time. Each of the 3 older kids have been doing a load of dishes each day as well, so we're slowly making headway on them! So far for today I've done 15 min. worth of dishes. I'll try to report back when more are done. I'm really working towards keeping my sink shining too.

Late entry for November 2nd: washed one sink load of dishes, set out to dry, washed 7 Mason jars, set out to dry today: put away the dry dishes, not the jars, though My kitchen isn't looking too bad. I put two sink loads in to soak. There are a few dishes on the counter still to wash. Got four pans on the stovetop to wash, and the stash & dash that's still in the oven. Things aren't out of control like in the past. One long afternoon in the kitchen, and everything could be done. Keep up the good work, everyone! You're doing great!

Finally got all the dishes washed last night, two days worth plus a set of dishes and a bowl for Fence Guy. Ugh! I have a 2liter glass coke bottle, a glass milk bottle and a glass one gallon jar soaking to wash with the breakfast dishes.

I don't think I've ever seen a 2 liter glass Coke bottle imamess! TONS of dishes washed yesterday, mostly by me, but DS6 & DH each did some last night. I washed for 15 minutes this morning & that left only 1 skillet, and my giant stockpot left to go! Of course, there are more dishes by now, but I don't remember the last time I had so few! Whew! There is light at the end of the tunnel! Great job everyone!

Hi, I'm back! I washed my dishes this morning and again tonight. Due to this thread and struggling for a year to wash dishes once a day, it just doesn't bother me too much any more. Since this only took over 50 years, does it mean I'm a slow learner?

A message from my yoga instructors. Discipline is consistency, not force. Good work continuing the dish washing thread going, and making headway jendela, SheCanAndWill, lostchild, saffron and imamess. It helps others to feel they are not alone as the battle with themselves to achieve the consistency needed in their household, especially with regard to dish, pot, etc washing. Last night I pleaded too tired and left them sitting in the sink, where they are still. Leaving them didn't help my sleep any. Now a meal is delayed because they aren't done yet. I'll put on a load of washing, and wash up and get those seeds soaking . Now. I desire the outcome, and its the only way to get there. edit They are done. Many containers means they are piled high.

I don't think I've ever seen a 2 liter glass Coke bottle imamess!  I looked at it closer and it is 1 quart. It is just so big and nearly the same size as a modern 2 liter that I didn't look close enough. It is the only thing left. There is some dirt in the inside bottom that won't come loose and the long slender brush that I need to finish this is hiding from me. No, I really put it in one of the 'safe places' that I immediately forget where it is. When clean and dry, it will go on the top of my bookcase with three other green Coke bottles of different sizes. I also have a very old brown glass Coke bottle.

imamess, I've heard that using an effervescent denture cleaning tablet can help clean stains from vases, etc., so that might be worth a try if you have any. I've also heard that works in cleaning toilets too! Good Luck!
