Boiled the water and washed the dishes with it. The hot water heater went out and the dishwasher broke (unable to be repaired) so this is really a chore. But all dishes are done.

Isn't it great to have areas clear like that! I just cleaned the left counter, also, so that and the left sink are free and clear.

saffron yes it is. I haven't been doing much in the way of deep cleaning or decluttering lately but keeping the kitchen, bathroom, litterbox, and trash out maintained daily is a huge boost to the morale, even if the house isn't guest-ready perfect. The most important thing for me (right now) is that the most important areas are liveable, useable, and sanitary enough for me and the pets. My morning routine before work, as boring and repetitious as it is, is most crucial in keeping me from going way over to the dark side of squalor.

I've been washing dishes these last couple of days.
Won't be finished for a while, I imagine.
But progress - not perfection.
And I am definitely making progress.

Afternoon you guys, I have to say I seem to be back into the swing of things at the sink. Instead of leaving items to sit, I just wash them up right away. Should this trend continue....I will just continue to strive in maintaining it while starting to work other goals. This is one of the few maintenance I had gotten good at and mostly maintained, so maybe just maybe the set backs will be few and far between. Not that I do not know how it can be extreme, although here is to hoping as there is so much else to work on and get managed. Keep up all the great work everyone and thanks for helping me get back on track.

Well done to Harmony, saffron and cleanbee, imamess, dayeanu, and lostchild. Great habits getting set up in your homes.. Lately I've had mine done for my big day out on Thursday, then lose it that evening and don't get caught up on the Friday. I know I will get caught up. Exhausted hot and head achy today. Excuses. I know.

wynken that happens to me too and with almost everything. When I have lots going on outside of the house, I sometimes cannot do ANYTHING in the house and that is ok. Sometimes we have and make tradeoffs, which is also about balance. That is great it seems to just be for a day when your thrown off. Today I had a pretty tough day, although despite being wiped out....made sure to do the few dishes that were in the sink instead of letting them sit overnight(it was tempting). Only took a few mins and was not even gross yet. Seems about the speed I am going at, so am just going to stay focussed on dishes. Great job everyone!!! edit to add: wynken you do awesome and one day you are not on top of yours due to having much else you do, I would say you do more than me and deserve more credit than you give yourself. I only had a few dishes today and it is not like my circumstances are like your Thursdays.... No comparing and your doing way better than me if we have to I think, although thanks for the acknowledging my effort

Washed up - stage 1, dried some, lunch, stage 2, done, pots soaking for a bit. All this and no one is in danger of being charged with assault, unlike in the video posted..... edit to add - great effort Harmony. Ideally, I'd do that too. stage 3 - pots washed, also dog bowls. Built a bit of a tower, but its all in the dishdrainer bar the plastics died earlier. He seems to do a mouth wash in his water bowl. hummm.
