I did maintaining today. I missed it yesterday, because we got home late. I think it is okay because I at least THINK about maintaining, and I make a decision not to do it, and then I get back to it the next day. Normally I would have never even thought of it. Here is my maintaining TA DA list: My bedroom: Put halfway done reading materials on bookshelf instead of floor (1 book, 1 magazine) Hung up shoes on rack (2 pairs) Picked up trash (about 3 items) Dirty clothes (5 items  ) Son's room: Organized Halloween candy (yes it needs organizing) Threw away Halloween candy wrappers Picked up dirty clothes (pair of socks) Living room Picked up trash (2 items) Made decision to throw away bag requesting canned food for boy scouts (I feel like a witch) swept up guinea pig shavings Took plate to sink Kitchen Dishes (5 items, I let my son do this. He is six, so it is not perfect, but at least it gets the majority of the gunk off, and the job gets done. I check dishes before I use them anyway) Trash (6 items) Hung up pot holders Bathroom Picked up dirty underwear on floor (2 pairs!?!?!?!?  :  Scooted scale back to spot All of this took 3 minutes or so. I almost didn't do it again. BUT I went to the site tonight, out of habit of course, and that was the push I needed. If I wasn't going to the site everyday, I would be back in squalor, I know I would. It is right there lurking, and I need to attend to it daily at the very least by participating in the board, and hopefully by maintaining each day. On the brighter side, now that I am desqualored, the rest of life is SO much easier somehow. I am completing my paperwork on time (special ed. teacher) and coming up with new strategies, I am attending school and doing my assignments, I am controlling my money, I am controlling (and losing) my weight, I am like a brand new person, and somehow, someway it all started with cleaning the house. Not sure why, but it did. Anyway, I am posting a lot about this because it is all brand new to me, and I have never experienced it before, so sorry if I get repetitive. It is just all so brand new and amazing! |
