This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous.
- Do one more little thing.
- Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing.
- Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or
depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying
- Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen
- Put away phone book
- Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's
- Took pop can to kitchen
- Put away phone book
- Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's:
- Bring plates and glasses to kitchen
- Put dirty socks in hamper
- Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da![/size][/b]
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.[/size][/b]
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das.

Good afternoon everyone. It's 1.20pm here, and I've done virtually nothing! I just hope this afternoon is more productive! TADAs: Got up. Arranged dog boarder to have my dog for my romantic night away next month! Made breakfast for OH and DD. TODOs: 1 podcast length (approx 1 hr) of de-squaloring bedroom 1. 30 mins de-squaloring bedroom 2. 1 hour de-cluttering living room. I might listen to some Christmassy music or watch a Christmas film whilst de-cluttering the living room, as one of my incentives is making room for putting the Chrismas tree up in a few weeks! We always have a real one, 6 - 7 ft tall. So I need to get cracking on making room!! Feeling Christmassy whilst I do it may keep me motivated!!!    |

Sounds like a great plan. I want to decorate this year. I haven't in a long time because of the clutter, but now there is actually room for decorations.
What does OH stand for?

That's great Tiredofthis!! You must be so glad to have the room sorted in order to put up decorations! Last year, I still bought a tree and put it up, but there was barely enough room beneath it for the presents because of the clutter! And some of the lower branches were squashed up against some of the piles of clutter! I hated it! It made me miserable! This year I want it to take pride of place and have all the room it deserves to show off its beauty!!!  OH stands for Other Half! Speaking of which, he's just left for work. It's 3.15pm, so I'd better get cracking on my WITs!!!  |

Sapphire-A nice romantic getaway! I am so jealous. Tadas: Youngest lunch made. Up and to school ON TIME. Litterbox. Oldest was supposed to do this. He will pay for it later.  Made bed. Found bill I need to pay today! Put youngests school papers where they belong. Todos: Shower. Make up. Work on time. |

Hello Sapphire, thanks for starting WITS today. Christmas music is a good idea to help motivate your de-cluttering.  In the past, I found a lot of creative ways to put up a tree around my stuff, but guess what? It was more work than clearing out the room! Hello Tiredof this. Hope that your day goes well. Messyshelby, enjoy your romantic getaway with OH.   I have already gotten a few things done. TADAS: 1. Washed, dressed, took meds/vites.  2. Went out for breakfast. 3. Banking done. 4. Paid my cable bill. (It went up AGAIN!  ) 5. Organized 2 stacks of paperback books into a neat pile. TODOS: 1. Go to work untill 9pm. 2. Try to persuade my client to go for a ride, so I can cash my check from her, and pay my car insurance also. That's all for now. Have a great day and evening everyone! 3G |

 , Threeg, it's me who's having a romantic getaway! You're right about it taking more effort to arrange the decs around the clutter than to just tidy up!!!! I can't believe I do it every year! Thanks Messyshelby! We can't wait. It's only to a local hotel, but it's lovely. And it's our last night away together before the baby comes! So will be our last for a long time!!!!!! |

I've been avoiding this thread for a few days, but here I am and I'm going to do it Here goes---- Tada: - got dd up, dressed her, did her cares, gave her her meds, etc. - took dd to dr appt. - hung up all coats and bags and backpacks when we got home ToDo: - take check to bank - pick up Rx - clean off kitchen table here I go  |

I guess I'm posting kind of late in the day and people must mostly post during the day time.
Anyway...
TaDa:
- went to bank and made deposit
- made dd something to eat
- scanned paperwork and e-mailed it to dh's former employer
- opened some mail and read it and put it in an appropriate place
ToDo:
- clean off kitchen table
- put load of laundry in washer
- make dh coffee (oops forgot, and he's leaving for hunting tonight)
