- In honor of the 16th day of the month ...
Why not celebrate the number 16?
No reason needed!
NOTE: You can do this challenge on any date! You don't have to do it on the 16th.16Don't think about it. Just start. Do 16 tiny quick tasks. Or do four 4-minute cleaning challenges (totalling 16 minutes). Or log onto our chatroom and do a 16-minute challenge with everyone there. It will be fun. Everyone else is doing 15-minute challenges but you can be "different" and do 16 minutes Or pick up or clean or toss 16 somethings. Or do the special challenge of the day:
Write down 16 regrets in your life on a piece of paper. Then THROW AWAY that piece of paper -- and your regrets. Then take ONE tiny step towards a positive future.
(If this feels too personal to share here, yet you wish to reply here, you could just say "listed and tossed regrets, and then took a postive step.")
Share as little or as much as you feel comfortable with.
NOTE: When completed, do something that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of "regret". Do something ordinary, or do something inspiring, or do something silly. This refocusing of your attention is just to get your mind moving in a positive direction -- it doesn't have to be about the number 16. No rules. Do what works for you.
You can ignore all of the above suggestions and just do anything very simple that is related to the number 16.-

- I set the timer for 16 minutes and began emptying and refilling the cat litter box. As I dumped the litter and wasted into the trash, I imagined that I was dumping regret out of my life. As I brought the litter trash out to the curb for the garbage truck to collect, I imagined that the regrets were being taken away by the garbage collectors and recycled into positive thoughts. All of this might normally have taken longer than 16 minutes, but I was in a hurry because the garbage truck was due to arrive very soon. So I got it done and came inside just as the timer was going off. When finished, I chose to do something silly, in order to pull my energy away from the topic of "regret". I am now sitting here singing the song " You are Sixteeen Going on Seventeen" from the movie "The Sound of Music". The song is actually kind of boring and annoying ... and sexist and out-of-date ... and I don't really like it. So ... I decided to embrace the ridiculousness of singing it. Because it's a silly thing to do, and because the song contains the word "SIXTEEN". -
