I am Mt Vernon-ing the house in anticipation of my 60th birthday. Today I worked (15 + 15 + 15) on the lower hall. The dust from the reno work is frightening to me. BUT: *I made TWO attempts to clean the glass on the light fixture. First time with health-food-store glass cleaner & paper towels did not work: in fact, the fixture looked worse (if possible?) * Attempt #2 with Reidel micro-fibre wine glass cloth worked. *Unfortunately, I had the same cloth in my hand when I attacked the glass in the big east window. *Cloth is now filthy. I am attempting to soak it in Oxyclean: hoping the dirt marks come out. I think I will now clean my glasses. I have stuff from the optician. edited to add: *I swiped the computer monitor with a special cloth. I don't know if this is plastic or glass. Then I kept swiping along various surfaces in the office INCLDUING a couple of pictures. Does this count? Anyway, thanks for the idea.

I took DAunt to the eye doc and she prescribed some new eye glasses for her. I went to my eye doc and picked up my new pair!

Cleaned my glasses today. I can see!
I was looking at the glass on my entertainment center. That will be my tonight's project.

Glass kitchen window in son's house needs repair. On Monday, when I go the key, I went over there and saw the window. Remembered that it has been cracked since son bought it. He never repaired it, but as a landlord it is an essential repair.
So I began the process of finding a repair for it. Not as easy as it was when I lived in a big city. There are no glaziers in this town. The glass shop closed up business a few years ago and no one in town actually cuts glass anymore. The solution was not as easy as I was hoping it would be.
Had to order a new window, which cousin contractor will install when it arrives. He did the measuring and the ordering.
Son approved the estimate & the window repair is 'on order.'
This is my new responsibility as 'manager' of the rental for my son.
