Wow, You two are up early (or maybe late)! I'm still in bed, contemplating what I would like to get done over the next couple days. 1. There are a few odds and ends I still want to work on in the kitchen, including scrubbing the floor. 2. Prepare package to mail to DD, go to the post office, pick up some odds and ends at the store while I'm out 3. Sort through papers, get all of the tax related stuff together in one place 4. Start working on taxes 5. Go to University website and try to figure out what I need to do next. My advisor has told me which class I'll be taking starting next month, but when I attempted to register, I couldn't figure out how. 6. Take video for research study. They have asked me to give them a tour of my house. Besides the kitchen, the house is a disaster.

you can do it, Ally; the interview is changing your attitude about things. thank you for sharing stuff about that study; i so wish they did things like that in my area. also your list of to-do's is great. cheering you on, you are doing great work! i made a list a few days ago and didn't accomplish much. i'm reposting it to nag myself into doing some of it! take some pictures of apartment messes? find receipts and turn in to school for reimbursement for materials i bought for art class. need to do this Monday call kindergarten teacher and set up a day/time for kids to finish project. file more papers corral and box up fabric, label water house plants water back balcony plants dig up some plants that i gave to deceased friend for his little front garden, to bring to my garden. continue stove project - break into baby steps - so far all i'm doing is defending the little bit of stovetop i cleaned up.sew on valentine project i started at quilt camp and didn't finish - took it one step further and finished putting home made bias tape around the heartsdo an hr of garden work for store trade at the craft store

creativechaos, The research study interview was done via skype. I live in PA, the interviewer lives (Alex) in the UK. There is a therapist in my area, but I have not contacted her yet. That is something I will do if I am not continuing to make progress by the end of March. Your to-do list and mine are very similar. I was playing the dice game to get through my list yesterday. The one downside of having worked so hard on the kitchen, is that I am defending it to the point that I'm hesitant to prepare messy food. I was thinking of making some bread, but then I'll have flour all over the counter-tops, and some on the floor, and on the mixer. That never stopped me from making bread before, I would just wipe it up, but maybe I'm afraid that I won't do as thorough a job and the mess will start to creep back in, little by little. ETA: The first thing I did this morning is start making bread. The dough is in the mixer. I'm using up some ingredients like some honey that had crystallized and some raisins that were way past their "best by" date but were sealed and look and smell fine.

hi Ally; i can relate to your not wanting to use the kitchen - and the fear of messing it up and starting the downward slide. it sounds like you are dealing with a bit of "ghost squalor" mentality - so WTG for challenging those fears of messing up the kitchen, and going ahead with the bread baking! btw - we may already have talked about our PA connection but if not, i am from southeastern PA - and i still miss it! beautiful state, and most of my family is there; miss them too. i did not get too far on my list, so some of it will carry over for when i get up. i see that it's already late again! going to try to hit the hay before 2 a.m.

whoa.... i forgot all about this thread and slacked on posting in it! two successes: 1) FINALLY finished apartment recertification! was waiting for a letter from social security for weeks, and finally got that on friday. the rent is going up for me, due to the ss benefits, but not quite as bad as i thought, so that is good news, and i think it will still be do-able and not make me quite as poor as i was, all in all. 2) i put up the valentine door hanger i sewed - incompleted- because i didn't bind it - i want it to be reversible and am trying to think on what to put on the other side. it's huge! but i basically like it. going to add a few things to it today. i think i want to sew even though the apt is a mess. the to-do lists are endless and i never seem to get very far with them or even do things on the list. but i'll try. water house plants that need it short grocery run research on something i've been pondering, and make a decision phone call to a good friend was not home, left msg.research on setting up a bullet journal continue to try to organize fabrics so that i can see what i have continue to sort as i pick up after myself - ongoing. maintain kitchen and bathroom sink (not sparkling just relatively clean) dishes - keep up - did two batches.gain more space on small kitchen counter creative time sewing or...? cat care job worked on papers. tossed about 100 and sorted the rest into loose categories. but did not cull more. yet.

I took a couple things off the kitchen table and put them away like syrup and ketchup. I took the dog out again so I wouldn't have to deal with an "accident" over night but she wasn't too cooperative. I did 5 minutes of dishes earlier.

hello momof3boys! thanks so much for this report, and for reviving the thread! WTG on dishes, dog care, and putting things away! You inspire me to start posting here again! Thanks for that and come back whenever you like! It's been a long draining week - sick - crisis of a friend, and my life derailed by both. i cooked a chicken last night and while taking it out of the oven, pulled the rack out too far, spilling chicken and all the grease. still cleaning that up. did dishes last night, gathered up trash and took it out. crushed cans for recycle. i have backslid. i also took home stuff from my friend's (the one in crisis) and have no idea where to put it or what to get rid of here. short list for tonight and tomorrow and into the weekend: dishes put away groceries, fold bags 10 minutes on paper monster get better sleep (did well last night) so-so. got about 6 1/2 hrs. waking up earlier and earlier now.take vitamins and stuff to help get rid of whatever i have. picking up and putting away - 10 minutes some hrs of paid work slug bait in my own garden! two important phone calls - left msgs, no satisfactory outcome to either.visit a friend who just had a hip replacement start new donation box - filled that, took to thrift. mostly towels.take small bag of clothes to consignment store wash, dry, put away a load of laundry clean oven incl residual chicken grease from the spill

creativechaos, I have been backsliding a little, but want to nip it in the bud this weekend. After doing all of that work in the kitchen I realized I had a leaky fitting under the sink. I pulled everything out from under the sink to find a big hole rotted in the bottom of the cabinet. My kitchen has been sitting that way for weeks now. I am slowly working on repairing the hole and plan to put 1/4 inch plywood and some vinyl flooring in the bottom of the cabinet in hopes to prevent this type of problem again. I also bought the parts to repair the plumbing. I know what needs to be done, but know that it has the potential to be a difficult fix, so I keep putting it off. I have only used cold water in my kitchen for the past several weeks because the hot water is shut off. I'm hoping to get all of this repaired this weekend, and hopefully get the kitchen back into "good enough" shape. A month ago, I ordered sliding shelves for the pantry. They should be delivered within a week or so. They are unfinished, so DH and I will work on finishing them and then installing them. This will require that the pantry be totally cleaned out, which still needs to be done. Since we have taxes and other things to work on, I'll give myself until the end of March to complete this.

hi Ally - you have lots on your plate and a great plan! sure, the rot you found set you back, but good job finding it! the sliding shelves will give you impetus. how are things going? did you get the shelves yet? i totally failed on my list and today i fell and hurt my wrist/hand (sprain, maybe worse) so i will be going very slowly for a bit. did the dishes tonight. took an hour instead of the 15 m it should have. but i did them. i fell pretty far behind in the past couple weeks again. now with the injury i must be patient and slow. may have to use my brain for a bit. lifting is out!
