Thanks nifty50. The coffee was very helpful.
Good job with self care, cc. Keep it up! And a phone call to a huge anonymous entity who wants our money! Good work!
I cleaned up the kitchen and started laundry. Now I'm getting to the harder stuff.

I talked myself into recycling several years of a magazine I was saving. I didn't want to get rid of them because of the information they contain. I realized that there is nothing in those magazines that I can't find online. It's not only the clutter factor and that it takes up room. Paper is heavy and I have so much of it. Sometimes I worry about the floor. How much weight can it take? So I told myself, not only am I lightening my load figuratively. I am also lightening my load literally.

WTG creativechaos and hiding! My kitchen has been back-sliding. After I did the major clean-up (back in January) mostly focusing on counter-tops and the floor, along with some of the cabinets/drawers, I decided to clean out under the kitchen sink. There had been a slow drip from one of the fittings, which resulted in a rotted out floor of the base cabinet. I took everything out of that cabinet, and now the kitchen has been sitting that way for over a month. Stuff is all over the floor that belongs in that cabinet. A few weeks ago I used some wood putty to fill in the rotted hole. Then I sanded it down a little. I cut some pieces of plywood to line the floor of the cabinet. It looks a lot better. Next up is to find a piece of sheet vinyl flooring to put on top of the plywood, then put things back in the cabinet, purging as I go. I had a piece of vinyl flooring but DH moved it and doesn't remember where he put it.) My next project in the kitchen will be the 2 foot wide pantry cabinet. I ordered unfinished sliding shelves (basically drawers) to install inside. They arrived a few days ago. I need to finish the drawers, remove everything from that cabinet and install the drawers, and then replace reload everything back in there, purging as I go. I'd like to have this done by the end of the month, but that all depends on how easily the installation goes. We do have to install some pieces of wood on the inside of the cabinet for the glides to attach to. I was hoping that the pieces of wood I bought yesterday would fit, but they will require some time-consuming trimming.

hi Ally - sorry i abandoned this thread for so long. i was excited to read your post about the kitchen and wonder how that project is going. did you get your sliding shelves done for the pantry yet? that is going to make such a great difference! cheering you on, and hoping for a good report soon. WTG on lining the floor of the cabinet! i admire your handiness with power tools! i had a long time of not getting much done. still bothered with both wrists but am making little bits of progress here and there. i think i may actually have some things that are leaving the apartment for donation and consignment. some trash has been going out too in small bags. i kind of abandoned my lists for now. maybe i will just write the accomplishments and important to do's. i get to start physical therapy for both wrists this week. i only get 6 sessions with insurance, so am hoping to make the most of it and learn lots. there is much to do. the big manager of all the apartment complexes might inspect some of our apartments on april 20th. he's coming for some annual meeting. also, the owners may pay a surprise visit too. they plan to replace my never-used baseboard heaters with bigger ones that i'll never use because electric here is unaffordable - which means i will have to rearrange my whole apartment and purge lots more, just to keep things away from the big very UGLY heaters. i am not looking forward to that! so, i do have a push to try to get things under control in here. they are so bad and hoarded up. i am trying to purge what i can bear to purge. if i work some every day, i think i can at least give him no reason to try to evict me. also have tons and tons of paper things to do - incl 2015 taxes. i am not even going to do any figuring to get the estimate. i think i will just throw money at them and hope that it is enough!

creativechaos, I hope your wrists are feeling better soon. Sorry to hear about the heaters. I'm sending good vibes for getting things cleaned up! My kitchen progress has pretty much ground to a halt. I started taking an online college course on March 8th. The class runs only half a semester, so it's only 7 weeks long. I was confused the first few weeks, and didn't understand that I had to write a whole bunch of random essays, so now I am trying to catch up on that, and also I have to write a 10 page paper. I am not much of a writer, so this is hard work for me, and everything takes a lot longer than anticipated. I seem to think that I can write a couple paragraphs in less than an hour, but by the time I read up on the subject and actually write and submit it, often an hour or two has past. Oh, and it appears that the "final exam" is actually another long writing assignment, that I should start working on as well. Problems/Projects in the kitchen: 1. The plumbing under the sink is still not fixed. I can use cold water but not hot. I need to turn the water off to the whole house and drain the pipes to do this, and I am not looking forward to that, so I keep putting it off. Plus it's hard to work under the sink. Not much room to move around. 2. I replaced the plywood under the sink, but was going to put some scrap vinyl flooring on top of it, but DH moved the scrap of flooring I had, and doesn't remember where. I think he may have thrown it out, because it doesn't seem to be anywhere I look. In the past I have seen small remnants of vinyl flooring at Home Depot, but when I was there the other day, they didn't have any. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy a few feet off of one of their rolls. The only problem that those rolls are like 12 feet wide, and I only need a small piece. 3. The sliding shelves: I have unpacked them all and stacked them up. I had DH trim some boards that will be used in the installation process. Next up with them is coating them with sanding sealer and then with polyurethane. I plan to do this on a day off from work when it is warm and dry and I can have some windows open for ventilation. I am taking today off from work, but it is cool and rainy out and I need to work on my term paper. 4. Our kitchen floor is currently just a painted subfloor. I have wanted to put some type of tile down for a long time, but am indecisive, and honestly it hasn't been a top priority. 5. Lighting: I have decided that I want to make a hanging light using antique canning/mason jars. I bought the jars and some of the electrical components. DH is prepping a piece of wood for me to use.
