I'm back from the bank, the account is open. I really like this bank, it's a chain but each branch is very small, they only have one person at a time there who does things like open accounts, and 2 tellers are the most I've ever seen. It really has a small town feel, and I will look forward to walking in there with a dog to make deposits, instead of agonizing over how to walk the mile or so to the other bank. It doesn't feel that cold anymore, maybe because the sun is out now. Eat breakfast Wash cat food dishes Start file for new bank PEEP both desks Diane

Good afternoon I'm drying pillows today (that I found in the closet, & washed 'em up) in between running the dishwasher - that should be almost ready to unload. I'm still feeling sick, so I'm not very energetic today. I've got some furniture to move later, when DH gets home - that needs to be organized. The staining might get started today, if I remove the drawers and do it in the bathroom. I might want to wait for a warmer day, to ventilate the smell out. IDK yet, we'll see. There's the giant book cull looming in the future, too. I'd like to get a bunch of donation things packed up and dropped off this weekend, because they're taking up space!

Cyn, you might want to start the giant book cull and count on breaking it up into lots of little book culls. Unless you're not as attached to your books as I was--I found it very hard to do and had to do a little at a time. Of course, if your books have been buried under other things for years it's possible you no longer have any interest in them! In fact, I hope that's the case, it'll be a lot easier for you to cull. I washed a fairly large rug - it's about 5ft x 7ft. I've done this a few times in the past and it's a heavy job but very satisfying. I wash it in the bathtub and the water turns mud-brown. After three rinses it's clean and then it takes two days to dry. I first drape it over a kitchen chair in the bath and let it drip - this gets a lot of water out of the middle part. Then I haul it into the living room with the heating on full and prop the ends up so it gets air underneath.

washing that heavy big rug, lydia! Hope it dries fast! I didn't have a plan today, but here's what I accomplished: Shoveled snow in bitter cold wind. The high today was 11F. Only my eye area was exposed. I came in to warm up 5 times, but finally got it done. Put away dry laundry from yesterday. Grocery shopping lots of winter comfort foods : jelly-filled donuts 2 loaves bread 2 pkg. bagels cookies 4 cans soup 2 apples Swiss cheese cottage cheese 5 yogurts butter gal. white vinegar (mainly for cleaning my coffeemaker & laundry rinse water) All got put away when I got home.

Lydia, you are braver than I am, I don't think I would tackle a job like washing a 5x7 rug!
Sue, how much snow did you get? We only got about an inch, I think. It's cold again tonight, and tomorrow will be too.
I'm home for the evening, I'm watching the news, of course--interesting political night. I'm going to eat dinner, and then start getting ready for bed so I don't stay up too late.

That was nice the store let you return the items anyway, ohblondie ! Diane, I'm not really sure how much snow we got last night. It was very windy and therefore it drifted. 8 inches in some areas and bare pavement in other areas. It'll be very cold here most of the week and then warming up to 33F for the weekend! YAY!
