Hello! It's my first time here. I'm really hoping that being here will help me deal with my mess/clutter/squalor.

Welcome, messylondon !
It's good to have you here. Please jump right in, read, post if you want. It does help. Sometimes it takes a while for some things to sink in (ask me how I know that ), but it does help.

Thank you messymimi
I was directed here via the Squalor Survivors website. My home is a disaster area and I really want to do something about it. Nobody knows about the mess I live in, it's a shameful secret! My daughter has seen some of it, but I manage to avoid her visiting, so she isn't really aware of how bad it is now. I want to deal with it now and I think being here will be a good place to be while I'm trying.

Welcome Messy London !
I just joined yesterday. I think looking at the pictures on Squalor Survivor convinced me to FINALLY get my act together. I'm almost 60 for Heaven's sake, and I have wasted so much of my life hiding behind the front door of my home.
I am getting a disposable camera tomorrow and I plan on taking lots of before pictures. And, once I get a room done, I want to show all my new friends my accomplishments.
Hang in there Messy M. You can do it !!!
Hugs to you !
Lulu

Thank you Lulu
Yes, I think it was the photos on SS that convinced me too. I took some photos of the kitchen and the sitting room yesterday with the same idea - before and after. I might post them on here if I can work out how.
I've been having a nose around the site, people seem so encouraging and supportive. I think I'm going to like it here!
Keep coming back for support Lulu!

Welcome. I keep thinking I should take pictures, but I don't. At the moment my camera is missing. Another item lost in the mess. *sigh*

You know, I have a camera also. The last time I used it was on a trip in May 2005. I can't download the pictures because I can't find the attachments and cords to do it !! Hence why I am off today to buy a disposable one !!!!

Welcome Messylondon!! Even if you can't post your pics on here, it's helpful to have the pics for your own benefit. Just seeing the improvements can be a wonderful motivator!! Being here is a definite motivator too!! Glad you found us!

It will work out cheaper in the long run than buying disposables and getting them developed.
