Thank you everyone your words are helpful and encouraging, Arid - I logged onto my school's library to see if they had that book and they did so I placed a hold on it and a couple of others by the same author ..You are right I CAN do this! I am determined to beat this or at least keep in to a bare minimum. I have been avoiding thrift stores, freecycle well thats a different story but I'm working on it. My juk has controlled me long enough! I need to take control and get rid of it no matter how hard that might be. Yesterday I asked my bf to go to Costco and pick up the things we need, I told him that I had money and would end up spending it on stuff we don't need if i went. Besides I have bills that need tending too. He went willinginly.

Hi Halfadozen, I am a hoarder too. It's hard letting go of "perfectly good stuff" but it's if not being "helpful stuff" then I am trying to let go. I have a eBay habit, it is bad. I have to stop buying stuf because it is a bargain, and only buy stuff I really really need. But the bargains keep arriving in bubblewrap which of course I also save...
Welcome, and jump right in, you have come to the right place.

I'm glad that your library has that book, halfad0zen. I hope that they can get it for you soon.
As well as teaching how to re-frame one's thoughts, the book does a great job of addressing the problems of perfectionism and procrastination. Those two always have been "biggies" for me!
Good job on asking your BF to go to the store for you! THAT was taking a step out of squalor, for sure!!

I love the name Blue. I had two jet black foster kittens who I put a red and a blue collar on to tell them apart. We ended up naming them...Red and Blue. Blue was a sweetheat, but such a stinker. This is her in the Christmas tree that year!
I don't foster any more, but I still have Blue's sister, Red, who we renamed Jasmine. Blue was happily adopted out, and they kept her name.

That is a great name for a cat:) For some reason I cant see the picture... it says this image or video has been moved or deleted ... fostering is a lot of work and its hard on the heart strings ... I used to rescue dogs and find placements for them. If I have a farm I'd probably have a lot of pets... including a pet cow

There she is. Sorry about that. I was sitting in front of the computer wasting time, and decided that if I organized my photobucket acct, I could justify not accomplishing anything in the house. Unfortunately, moving many of the pics into folders broke the links-my bad. There she is, little Blue in the Christmas tree, with all of my glass and precious (gifts from loved ones) ornaments. She never did break any-was just climbing and resting in the tree, not batting at the ornaments. Here is our kitty Garfield, in his glory, with his two young beauties.
