-small bag of dry pods/big potpourri stuff
-bin of paper bottle recyclable
- donate- tea towels-dish cloths- cloth napkins no matter HOW MANY I donated they regenerate!!
-donate- wood moose stenciled tissue box cover
[debating on full bin of craft stuff-- too much to list
[debating entire large craft box of bead tubes & supplies, wire, etc (too tiny for me to fuss with!)
It feels like 'Flower Drum Song' here: A hundred million "miracles" <substitue "clutter things" <sing along> A hundred million "clutter things" A hundred million "clutter things" A hundred million "clutter things" are getting tossed each day....
[wimped out on giving the long metal display tray..I am a sucker for fleur de lis designs..will try again in fall]

I just got rid of one large shopping bag of mixed paper & cardboard clutter. Brought it down to the recycling can. Need to remember to add it to my Paper Project tally.

Yesterday I replaced an old non-working outside motion light with a new one. Old one went into the garbage--along with some extra bits and pieces that I did not need to replace because the two lights were very similar. Normally, I would have stuck the extra parts into a drawer or somewhere and hung onto them till, when? Likely, some years from now when I would have come across them while Decluttering the drawer, at which time I would have looked at them and asked myself, "why on earth did I keep that?!"
Lesson learned: I do not need to keep every bit and piece that comes into my life. Sometimes it is best to pitch stuff right on the scene, instead of saving it and having to deal with it later on!

peaceandfreedom << so true..I have a drawer of "plumbing parts" and another of electrical parts out in the studio..will face them soon (summer is much better when there is no heat out there!)
often guys like to root thru bins of parts at yard sales..I may skip the "sales" which I HATE dealing with..and place bins at the road, and make a sign: "Take"

Got rid of a box of plant food, years old, by sprinkling on lawn. It will rain again tonight but I should have watered first in case there is any punch left in it. Drained two old bottles of cleaner, recycle bin for containers. Put nearly dead plant outside-will let nature take its course. Gangly and not nice anymore.
Need to toss the plastic bookshelves that I use for plants in winter. They are falling apart.

I do love this thread. It gets right to the point.
Thursday is trash day for me. I have already thrown out everything in the fridge that needs to go. Every trash day for 1 month, I have made sure that my recycle can was full and 1 have two trash cans ...they have been full. In addition to that, we can put a 6x6 area near the cans of bulky household trash that won't fit into the trash can.
To Do: gather all trash from small trash cans take recycling out put cardboard into recycling bin take large trash out
gather pile up
I'll be back to report.

I agree, def6. I also love how focused and to the point this thread is! No need for a ton of extraneous details - what did we get rid of? Yesterday I brought a bag of clothing to a thrift shop. There were about ten items in it. The gentleman at the Donations counter thanked me several times and it felt good to give these things away. This chain of thriift shops helps support people living with HIV and AIDS. I had packed that bag about a month ago and kept tripping over it, so I am glad I finally got rid of it! And there were things I still really loved in it, but they had to go.

some expired canned food i'll never eat, tossed. some large plastic pots (many more to let go; doing a bit at a time), a bag of clothes to consignment. some "ugly" fabric scraps in the trash, 2 boxes broken down (box hoarder!) and put in recycle dumpster. threw a bunch of ancient flower seeds out back in our communal "wild" area - maybe something will sprout, if the deer and rabbits don't get them! you remind me, outfromundah, that i have two donation boxes packed in the storage unit... will find next time i'm there, and bring to thrift. so glad the weather is getting nicer! i can start doing my "curbside donations" again soon!

Hello outfromundah and Congrats for getting the donations out. I have made it a habit every week to quickly throw out old food from the fridge before trash day... but I added the freezer too this time. Bonus points for doing things that I normally don't do. Other things I normally don't do: Wash the road grime off of the chrome on my tires. I don't mop as much as I should I don't polish the wood enough I don't sweep the porch enough That's enough things for now...basically anything you can put off without it getting too noticeable...I put it off.

Two bags of craft supplies. One bag is out in the garbage can, and the other one is sitting on top of my "donate" box. I didn't go out today, but I have a few errands to run tomorrow and will drop it off then. I *LOVE* amnesty: I am NOT going to think about how much I spent on those items or what I could use them for. I AM going to look at the bit of empty space I made in my craft room (I can see a tiny bit of carpet!) and dream about how wonderful it is going to feel when that room is cleared out and organized so I can use it again. I am also going to enjoy the stuff I had forgotten about and rediscovered today. I went shopping in my own stash for sewing supplies today, and I'm happy with what I found.

Today was mostly donations- attacked guest bedroom again..I can only manage it in chunks.. then abandon it for days.
two VERY sweet dresses from the 90s.. and one insanely ornate & decorated winter sweater skirt set...can't believe I paid for that..so not my style anymore.
I keep finding clothing that I 'loved' but never think of til I see them.....but easier to donate now.
A set of angled corner shelves- white wood good for any room where a little corner needs to be used.. a pair of very vampy leather shoes from Brazil..never worn.. and never WILL wear the. a box of Christmas decorations stacked with the others for fall, a large leather rolling office chair, a scarf, a vest, a small wood shelf, several other small items.
I TOSSED two non-matching thick knitted slippers with pompoms..I did NOT make myself just keep and wear them anyway..too slippery on my floors, even tho two different grandmas, or crafters handmade them. Can't think of an 'alt' use at all, so into the trash. this is that slipper that kinda stretches over your foot..it's a classic design, not sure the name of them.
and TADA! a small bin of tiles from outside....yep just right into the rubbish tip.
BEST of all I still had not "acquired" a "miracle duster" in a MONTH of talking about it....well..cleaning a wicker basket out I FOUND my purple magic duster I got 10 years ago..still like new..hahaha
I went all over dusting with that thing, poking into corners..love it!
Still, a billion things gotta go... I dream of white space..two rooms totally empty..
