My hot water heater has stopped heating water, so I need to call the landlord. Blech. Overall, the house is level 1, which we are generally comfortable with. But not if the landlord is coming. Kitchen Dishes Left Counter Right Counter Stove Stove Counters Put away small appliances Sweep Floor Mop Floor Living Room Tables cleared off Clean up my nest Dust Clean up Floor Vacuum rugs Sweep hardwood floors Mop hardwood floors Bathroom Assign son to clean the bathroom Go back after him and fine tune it Basement Change kitty litter Clean up kitty litter floor Clean up laundry area Clean up spare room Sweep floor Landlord is called and on his way over! I only half-@ssed most of the chores, but I don't care. Not magazine perfect, but we live here. It's not like I am hosting a party.

Bravo on getting thru it all, especially on the part I italicized & highlighted! ~~~ ~~~ Good Luck with that new water heater!

Way to go! Can you explain what your nest is? It sounds so cozy!

Thanks for your support everyone!! Way to go! Can you explain what your nest is? It sounds so cozy! My "nest" is the recliner, and the area immediately around it, that I sit in all the time. Back when I was more squalor-ific than I am now, the area around me would grow higher and higher, tables were over piled, etc. And it doesn't help that my main hobby is crocheting, so there is yarn EVERYWHERE! Now, it is mostly confined to one table, but that table is often overflowing. Oh, and the big rubbermaid container next to me that is overflowing with yarn and projects. I think most everyone has a "nest". An area that they are most comfortable in, surrounded by their favorite things!
