This is the Working in Threes (W.I.T.) Thread
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before
The guidelines are simple: - Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
- Once you have 3 things done, post them here! - Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again. - You aren't required to do the 3 things you had planned on -- just get any 3 things done and then post proudly.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed,
or just need to break your tasks down into something manageable, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of: - Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash . . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE-DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta-Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To-Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those 3 to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

Wow! Roadrunner! You have been busy! I got up this morning and after getting ready for church, loaded and started the dishwasher, went to church, then came home and did a few odds and ends, but not very much in the way of cleaning. Later I put all of the ingredients for some healthy soup into the crock-pot, then went out to buy some electrical supplies. Many years ago I ran an electric line out to near the pond to run a pump, and then ran an extension cord from that to the chicken coop to operate that automatic door and to keep it warm enough in there to keep the water from freezing. Over a month ago something started to malfunction in that circuit, but it would work most of the time, but a few days ago it totally quit. Either the outlet by the pond went bad, or the electric line itself went bad. I bought more outlets and more electric line along with some conduit. I want to run a wire out to the chicken coop and install an outlet box out there, and replace the line to the pond. to-do: Laundry Empty the dishwasher Call my dad about the funeral tomorrow. (An old family friend passed a couple of days ago.)

ccd, My dad is a retired electrical engineer. He is one of those guys that knows how to do just about anything related to plumbing, electrical, construction, mechanical... If I have a question, he explains what I need to do. He swapped the engine in my car about 10 years ago. He is 85 years old and is just starting to slow down a little bit. He taught me how to sweat/solder copper pipes together when I was a teenager, so when DH and I built our house 30 some years ago, I decided to do the plumbing. My dad did the electrical, because that part seemed to scary for me.
