I forgot to mention that one of the recipes was from 1975 and another was from 1976. I don't believe I ever made the dishes, so I thought it was time to get rid of them. I totally organized my recipe box in the process.

I need to claim I have been doing my 15 mins decluttering each day working through my clothes - they were sort of everywhere except folded neatly in drawers. Yesterday I noticed a couple of those little white wardrobe moths fly out - I shook everything I touched really well and went online and ordered some of those cedar balls. well this morning I started to sort a huge basket of clothes that I confess has sat there for 5 months and I hit the motherlode of those damned moths! so, feeling guilty that I should freeze the clothes, wash all the months out of them and use them - I have filled three very large bags with approx. 80 items of clothes that neither of us even missed for the last 5 months - every morning I've felt guilty about that basket of clothes waiting to be put away as I tried not to trip over it. so I' estimating 80 items ( lots of socks, undies & singlets) 167/2017my plan is to keep cleaning out the wardrobe and use the cedar balls to get rid of any more moths - any other suggestions?

dancingimp I have come up w similar rules. Day to day stuff like dealing w the daily mail does not count. Food does not count for me. I don't count digital. I really want to use this challenge to get rid of the clutter that is packed or stored away. I can't believe that in January I got 429 items out. I did not follow a plan but I purged all over the place. Now I have gone through the low hanging fruit. The easy or easier stuff is out. The last few days have had things w sentimental value among them This challenge will get harder. I don't like to toss things that could be donated either so that takes more time as I do t like to report on things until they are out so I don't report on donations until they leave the house.

The last few days have had things w sentimental value among them This challenge will get harder. I don't like to toss things that could be donated either so that takes more time as I do t like to report on things until they are out so I don't report on donations until they leave the house. Nice job! I haven't been using a clear plan so far, either. I go through different things as the mood strikes or as I run across them -- today I got fed up with the state of a bathroom drawer and sorted all the hair stuff, tossing a bunch as well as gobs of loose hair that had accumulated under everything. I've still got a fair bit of low-hanging fruit to work through, though, so I'm still putting off a lot of the sentimental decisions. I broke 400 today! Among the recent ones: a t-shirt that was literally over 20 years old (no holes, but it had picked up a nasty funky smell that refused to go away...I liked that shirt...), several bottles of nail polish, makeup I purchased a decade ago and hardly used, and a pair of socks. That had no holes in them. Slightly faded black, but still serviceable. But I no longer liked them. I only wore them when desperate. So off they went! magda , I like to donate when possible, too, but I count it on my chart when I put the item in the to-donate bag that sits near my front door. Otherwise I won't have a good number count when it's time to take the bag out! The only ones that I refused to count until they were gone were big things like the laptop and the printer -- the ones where I know the actual getting rid of it process will be difficult and the temptation to just put it back still has time to win out.

well I kept going in the bedroom yesterday and came across three large bags of clothing that were mums, and two big bags that my kids had filled to send to the op shop - I estimate at least 20 items in each bag so 80 added to my total.
This morning DH loaded all the 'stuff' to be donated to the op shop in his van and its gone! clears a big space near the front door where I've been storing it.

I took the blanket I made into 1 of our offices on Friday. I am giving it to a colleague. She hasn't got it yet but the process has started. This blanket represents a large proportion of my stash of wool (yarn).
56+1 = 57

Everyone seems to be going great guns this week but I've slackened off a bit. Its been far too hot and humid down here in Oz to do much of anything, but I have managed to do at least one extra fifteen minute job a day. So far this week I have cleared out the car and thrown out 6 old grocery receipts, 2 empty dog water bottles, 3 soft drink bottles 1 dead vacuum cleaner (that has been in the boot of the car since November). From inside the house ready to go to the tip - 1 wonky, leaky old water cooler 1 clothes steamer with a bad attitude (It just hisses at me and refuses to work). 105 spam emails
Total this week 119 - running total 826
