Bit the bullet when I discovered ANOTHER full bag of recycled JEANS materials cut up or prepped as fabric for crafts projects in the GBR today!! akakakakak. prolly 300 pieces and parts.
I made these in college, sold a ton at holiday fairs. made for friend's daughters, as gifts..love them! you can put wood spoons, scissors in the belt loops, paintbrushes into pockets when you give them.
Eventually went off into alternative themes, not using just a plain neck loop, using cut up blouses and shirts as the collar loop, shirt cuffs as pockets, the belt loops, and pockets are harvested and sewn on to the leg..which is cut off turned upside down so the bottom of the leg is the bib area.
sample image attached: ladies blouse, and cuffs (upside down as pockets), apples cut from a touristy embroidered sweatshirt, the beige strips are suede.. GLITTERY jeans are fun to cut and mix and match with other colors of jeans.
I ended up cutting up fancy sweatshirts, lace, men's shirts, random fabrics, lining them with gingham, and plaids, these are GREAT as a gift for Men who get dirty on projects, the belt loops hold tools, etc.
while I HATE cutting up good clothing this was already tossed out FROM a thrift store, most went to the dumpster, so I"saved"
the dark blue apron is for kids (just pinned), has a ceramic bunny pinned on..I mean i REALLY was going down the 'decorative" rails!
Sharing here as I "let go" of ever finishing any more....

@halfway2horder What a great idea you had to recycle these into functional crafts! I'm sure it is painful to let this project go. There's always that little voice whispering that you will get back to this "someday." I was having trouble getting did of wrong sized clothes because I just know that one day soon blah blah blah! In the meantime I'm stuck with clothes that don't fit and no space. wit made me feel so relieved when she reminded me that even if I do get rid of them, there will always be more opportunities to find deals on clothing. Maybe you can comfort yourself with the idea that if you really want to start on this again one day, it would be fun to hunt for just the right things. So it's not completely closing the door, just giving up the stress of having the projects waiting for you and pressuring you to work on them. I don't like half completed projects calling at me to come finish them. I'm impressed that you are able to let it go. That's a Big step forward toward the living space you want. Great job!

Heard from a lady wanting this stuff from my free cycle post..NOW to see if she shows up.
I am neurotic on giving my address to strangers, but in this case just setting a big plastic bag out by the mailbox is less stressful than having to meet with them at a set time, etc. people flake so often that I stopped using free cycle.
Like many I have good memories tied to the fabric..but I took pics in the past of finished aprons,, and have less of an issue getting rid now since there is no cost or loss of money to me.
I posted on free cycle for a whole amount of "cool rusty garden art materials" an no response..so still deciding went laid up the car to the recycle yard bin.
Much of the rusty art stuff is useable..a bar stool was base for large birdbath, a little vanity chair held a flower pot, a 12 bottle arched wine rack is just cute stuck in the flowerbeds..candelabra, odds and ends.. HAVE been used, enjoyed, and cluttered up the yard visually, so time to move them out.
I am KEEPING the 14 rusty shovel heads as I still have a project worth doing with them! ( AND they are a surface for gluing my glass tiles too..now I look at 'stuff' as potential free "base" for tile projects..just saying!
(our local bagel shop had a contest years ago, and a lady tile artist covered an old toaster with a design tiny tiles, and won..now she is famous locally for all the wild stuff she does with tiles in unexpected uses..like on a guitar! gives me too many ideas!
