Snow day here as well. Roads are shut down. Everything is closed. Even the state shut down except for the police, prisons, DOT plows, hospitals and the child abuse hotline.
I have dinner in the crockpot, working on laundry, sorted out and tossed some papers, some are ready to shred.
I think I am going to clean the fridge next.
I want to work more in my room but hubby is ensconced on bed with a blanket watching tv and going online.
So kitchen it is.......

Progressing slowly .... frustration with clothing and yarn .... DONE: * breakfast * started laundry -- one load in dryer the other washing now * organized purses -- have a bag to take to Plato's Closet * have a bag of clothing and odds and ends to donate someplace or throw away * organized yarn into a clear tub this will work much better * swept thru my clothing and pulled some that are NOT keepers Well ... that was not fun. But I did clear some space and I now totally eliminated the small tub I had "excess" purses and bags in ... the hook thing that my husband put up for me is more than sufficient to hang the ones I use -- so in a way it was a victory even though I'm grumpy while doing it!!!! Next is lunch and homework, then livestream ... after that it flows right into the evening -- YWCA, supper, Depression Support Group!! Tomorrow is grocery day. DH has the wheel for tomorrow I will just assist. SIDENOTE: I guess the reason it was not fun is that I'm encountering so much resistance -- even though it IS my idea to get rid of excess and I know it is a very good thing to do!!!! One old purse with worn out handles I feel so stupid that I can't just throw it in the trash ... it frustrates me ... I still have such attachments to "stuff". The purse was a favorite but I have not carried it in over a year because of the worn out nature of the handles. It's C-R-A-Z-Y and I hope to improve my ability to toss things that are no longer any good. It's in a bag of donations and I know full well it needs to be thrown away!

I understand your frustration and attachment, chris, especially to purses. I have semi-consciously evolved a step-down method to ease them out of my life.
I usually have two in my current rotation, that go with my current clothing capsule. They live by my desk/launch pad.
Then there are four more that are from previous or for next season, hanging in office from over the door rack. The "specialty" purses: evening, festival, etc. ones have their own rack on another door.
The out of season two are in storage.
Because I seperate them, it is easier for me to be honest about which ones I am really using. Also, when they have been put away, I can look at them more dispassionately, I think. And when its time to put away bags for the season, and I realize I never used one, then its easier to think about tossing it instead of storing it for next year.
ALso this whole process also helps me analyze what I love about my "go to" bags. SO as soon as they start to fall apart, I start to keep an eye out for their replacements. What I have found is when I am really specific, i CAN find exactly what I want, eventually, which has made it easier to let go. Quite often I find better quality for amazing prices.
There is also a purse "retirement home" for the very special two that are unusable but I can't part with yet!

okay, that was fun, I needed to think about something besides packing.
I made a really ambitious timeline, and I am way behind, but it was really just a guess. I can only do what I can do! I should probably check in with my housesitter, as she is also my ride tonight. I emailed her this morning, but don't know if she got it.
The good news is I ran into the master tenant as she dropped off her recyling when I was coming back from the hairdresser, so I told her I was leaving and that I got a house sitter. I'd rather deliver that news in person, anyway!
got my hair cut a lot more--right now it looks kinda crazy, but it will look fab soon tidied up my bedroom, put bins back swept and cobwebbed made a plan decanted, unpackaged, bagged up all my toiletries and non-clothing items for my carry on bag (except purse stuff) I'm gonna have to wear all the clothes I need, cause there's not much room left! I should probably eat something--I'll microwave an egg, see what else to finish up in the fridge

Good afternoon! I hope those of you with snow days are enjoying them and getting things done too! I had to shovel more snow at my senior client's house, her neighbors usually do that for her but when I got there no one had done it so I did. I'm having another slow afternoon, I've had to shovel so rarely this winter that I think I'm tired out from it. I had lunch and then a reading break. I have less than 2 hours before having to go out for my last walk. I'm so glad two walks got cancelled today, otherwise I'd probably be taking a nap right now. Clean up lunch stuff Pigeon care PEEP kitchen Wash cat food dishes Diane

Ok. I am cranking out laundry. Two loads of jeans, a load of whites. A load of darks andy comforter. Left is another load of darks and a special mattress pad cover. I rearranged some stuff in the fridge and tossed some old stuff. I emptied a shelf in a small cupboard and rearranged stuff. Weeded out some stuff. Missing a salt shaker ftom one set and the pepper shaker from another. Grrr. Cleaned up some stuff along sidey bed...had to cause the mattress shifted. Threw out dome stuff I found there, got jewelry into plastic shoeboxes. Recycled some bottles that slid down and tossed cracker wrappers. From everytime I have been sick. Still don't feel like I made a dent

Washed a living room window, inside and out, as well as the glass door. I'll get the exteriors again with the hose and do a better job once it's warmer. Degreased the stovetop area, and about to hit the cabinet underneath it, as well as the built in oven to the left and the washing machine to the right which we use as a food prep area (I have an interesting kitchen layout, .) Done with dishes till I cook something else! Still plugging away at laundry. Mount Washmore is no more! I'm down to just a couple of loads in the bedroom. Next: cabinets under stovetop more laundry beads start picking up in bedroom

mylittlescholar -- I enjoyed reading your "purse process" it is very helpful to know I'm not alone in this!!!!!!!! I am so much better than I used to be in terms of how many I keep & I also have gotten better at analyzing what I like so that I can only get purses with the features I use/need. Mostly, I'm completely into small ones now with just enough room for my wallet and phone and maybe a coin purse and pens and index cards -- and I carry a backpack for things like library trips or day road trips along with a very small purse that can go cross body!

Done: * sent out return (first ever Amazon return - something came with a missing piece) * went to the YWCA to swim but the pool was full of kids .... so .... I came home and walked a mile DH was pleased because he wanted to weedeat anyway but was going along with me just to get out of the house. * drying last load of towels * packed for Depression Support Group -- I sure hope all goes well and we can meet tonite -- I'm at a 4 or maybe almost to a 5 (scale of 1-10) and I hope to be able to network with others & my counselor. I have a counseling session next week. Overall, I think I'm doing really well ... but I've been stepping out on a limb in several areas ... change can be stressful that's all. And I committed to my trip in May by buying the tickets ... nothing wrong with that but ... I need the continued support I guess. Later after group, I need to stop for a can of cat food and possibly a pizza or something healthier. The chicken soup just isn't appealing tonight. I had it for lunch.... Well, I have almost an hour before going and I will use it to journal and prepare some ideas. I hope to be balanced not too needy and able to help others should they need it.

Ohblondie, it sounds like you're making the most of your day off.
Chris, I hope the group tonight is helpful.
After my last list I decided to go down to the basement and bring the giant bins and 2 bags of books down where they will be stored. I also poured water into the floor drain.
Next:
Get dog walk bag ready to go, take wallet in case I want to stop at a store on the way home Fill up kitchen water containers Sweep problem areas Write out a card to mail to my sister
