H2h I do not have and do not anticipate having mirrored closet doors. In fact I can't think of anyone I know having them do perhaps they r out of fashion overall. But is it really such a grave sin? Maybe it was a handy way to have a full length mirror w out using up other wall space. Perhaps they pity us? Just made me laugh when I read your characterization.

I and my alternative home builder friends looked down and pitied people who owned mirrored closet doors, and beige carpeting..in fact if you HAD mirrored closet doors is was a code word for "clueless consumer." I'm not totally comfortable with this sort of thing. Honestly, I don't see this as being so different from the "snotty big shot real estate lady" denigrating your black laminate countertops all those years ago. I appreciate very much that people here are trying to clean up and get their lives in order. If they have time and money to update their living spaces, that's great too! But if someone here can't afford to do that, if they live in a place with stuff that is not trendy-retro or artistic but is just plain old, let's just be happy that they're getting it clean. I don't want anyone to get turned off from coming to this forum for help.

-Next- gathering energy post nap to haul the wheelie bin over to tile piles and dumped several pounds..just trash them. ....... DIVIDING Property into TEN separate areas here to tackle. From crabgrass, trees and shrubs, to harvesting a wild elephant garlic/onion cross, letting mint and hillside berry hide stuff, fighting wild cuke, ivy and wild mustard, to berry popping up randomly. on dumping those tiles. And dividing work into smaller zones and smaller tasks is a wise way to organize those projects and to combat overwhelm. A little bit at a time with rest and acknowledgement of accomplishment can be so effective!

Several of my closet doors have mirrors on the *inside* of them. My bedroom door has a mirror on the bedroom side. Personally, I like them. I can take a look at myself before I go anywhere: Is my slip showing? Is my hair "decent?" etc. What's more, I'm **SO THRILLED** just to have **CLOSETS** (most of the older homes in which I've lived had only one--or at most, two--closets) that I wouldn't care if they were faced/lined with tacky contact paper!! !! Did you actually remove tiles from your homestead or just add to the tile pile? sifting and shuffling will make things worse for you if they need to bring in equipment to get to your foundation issues.

My beige wall to wall carpeting was here, almost new, when we bought this house, but many years of grandkids, many pets, & ourselves using it has taken its toll. DH & I used to shampoo it ourselves, but I can't manage that now. I can't afford to have new put down & I have hardwood flooring beneath that I have never seen. I have spent a lot of $$$ on mold remediation, rebuilding what was torn out for that, a new furnace & A/C, getting the rotted shed replaced, the big squirrel-out,plumbing repairs, & just now, a new DW b/c the old one died.My washer is on its last legs. I replaced the Fridge 3 yrs. ago & have helped all three of my grown kids with emergencies. I could take the money & have something else done, but I have to be cautious b/c I never know when I could need that money for in-home care if I should get sick enough to need it. So I am glad to have a good roof over my head & I just live with it. The BR & den still look pretty good, but the LR, DR & hallway could sure use new carpet or something, but as I age, it isn't as important to me. catcat
