At the store this evening they had all their fresh cut flowers on sale for 75% off. Hubby decided I should have them. I got 5 bundles! I now have 5 vases full of flowers. I really enjoyed making the different bouquets. I sorta cleaned off the top of the entertainment center. So I have these gorgeous flowers on a 1/2 clean thing. I just decorated my mess. . Made me feel tons better. I will clean the entertainment center tomorrow. It was just too late tonight. That means there will be another clean spot in this living room!

(I looked for a flower smilie but the closest I could find was a changing butterfly and some colourful balloons) Yay for finding some beautiful flowers to enhance your (almost) clean entertainment centre. That's one kind of 'squalor' I wouldn't object to! You've given me an idea - there's some roses blooming on an overgrown rose bush outside my bedroom window. The rose bush would look much better with a prune and my table would look more inviting adorned with those flowers

Haha, this is SO me. Chaos around me, and I'll say, "Oh I should get some flowers and put them on the dining room table!"
That's ok..it's a little spot of happiness. :-)

Flowers always seem to brighten up the place, don't they and they always brighten up my spirits.

Fuzzy I am sure those roses would look fabulous inside the house!
I walk in here and get a smile every time. I am happier. So tonight more work on the entertainment center. Youngest wants to wipe off the TV and the doors. He likes the flowers, too.

I had a friend give me some roses from her garden. They may not be as perfect as the store bought ones but they smell so wonderful. And they came from a friend so they are priceless.

Had to pick out some dead ones but they still look so pretty. Youngest said we need to keep buying flowers because it makes the living room so nice!
Now I think I will add some plants....big thing for me.

I believe we all REALLY NEED beauty in our lives. I am a sometimes compulsive shopper/hoarder. When I was at a rather desperate point some time back, I was drawn to buying beautiful things, lots and lots of beautiful things. I began to examine why I was buying all this stuff. First, because I am a hoarder, and that's one way I respond to stress. Some people eat, some drink, I collect. But also, I realized that when we are surrounded by so much ugliness, chaos, hopelessness and helplessness, beauty is really healing. I believe we are actually created to need beauty in our lives. (Just don't buy it all and bring it home to keep. That ain't pretty.)

Flowers are fading. I looked at some tonight. None were the right color, at least none in my budget amount. But, I think I am getting ready for plants. Almost... I agree we need the pretty around us. My mother just gave me another china music box. I love it!
