Right now, planning for more than one week out seems a bit too much. But for the coming week, my plan is to clear as much open space inside as possible.
1. work in kitchen with attention to the floors and counters 2. attend to areas around the couch 3. Amazon boxes and other recycling 4. Trimming things outdoors - weather permitting 5. Be mindful of food/eating.

Happy Start to a New Year to All.
I see by last year's thread that I hadn't posted since Christmas Eve. And in reality I have done very little since, so it's time to get off of my derriere.
I think I am mainly going to plan my weeks by zones. This week's zone contains the locker, plus several hall closets and the bathroom. My plan is to: Sort out my locker, at least the Christmas stuff Bring up at least 1 (empty) tote, and start taking down decorations as I clean each room, and put into it. Sort out extra wreaths, garlands, and contents of other Christmas totes and arrange them to donate next Nov.
I also need to: Get back to daily exercising. I already did 1 day, and could barely walk the next. After being ill in Dec. I put it off and didn't get back at it.
I'm also considering making Saturdays my paperwork day, and slowly work through the oodles of paperwork still remaining. So this should be a permanent category. For this week I still need to empty 2016 files from my fabric cube and set up for 2018.

Happy New Year BetsyMarie What a great idea to improve things just this week. I am inspired by this type of simplicity. I want to get better at cleaning up messes right after they happen. So for me this means: Make up bed as soon as you wake up. Dishes in dishwasher after use...leave no evidence in kitchen after meals Laundry put away after folding swish and swipe of bathrooms Car pick up after use Every area used during the course of the day needs to be put back pretty directly...sort of a cause and effect. This should take care of the daily...I'll take care of the backlog when I get proficent for today.

BetsyMarie, I am just decluttering here & there. I L.O.V.E. your Avatar. My DH & I always loved the Kliban cat. When I lost my DH over 8 yrs. ago, I donated almost all of his clothing. Kept only a few small things as mementos. One was his precious Kliban cat tie.I have pix of him wearing it. I don't see much of that cat anymore, but it was the funniest thing. Back to decluttering tomorrow. catcat

I have a couple Kliban cat cups, plus a couple other Kliban things from yard sales. All part of the hoard, . They do make me smile. Today I got a lot done. Too tired to go into detail. But a very good continuation of the week.

BetsyMarie, @h2h,, hollyhock, def6, catcat -- I hope that you all had a wonderful week!!! Reflection from this week.. I did well with my "Home Life Goals"Complete Daily TaskComplete Weekly and Monthly Home Life Task by Saturday at 12:00 This Week Monthly -- Filter, Dishwasher, Washer, Door Knobs, Dust Molding
I got it all done by the end of the Day on Friday....Of course I had 2 snow days at home so it was not a struggle to do, but it did feel good to not have housework to think about or do on Saturday. Clear Living Space.....got a few bit accomplished in this area -- I now have 23 horizontal surfaces that are dustable. The tree has been removed off the porch, and the snack counter top has been decluttered. ---I have to pick up the pace in this area next week.... Mom to Doddle and MonkmeeI finsihed up DSs room this week -- It is clean, neat and peaceful (not cluttered), we also got the curtains back up. I have been helping DD get caught up on her laundry....she normally does her own but she has a huge back log. Contacted two collages regarding Financial Aid and the Verification Process. --I also have to pick up the pace here this week Financial Awareness -- I made great strides in this area. One being home because of snow I did not spend any money so that is plus I completed my goal of working 3.5 hours on taxes and I have just about gone through all the receipts and recorded the necessary deductions. Which also netted me 2 more declutted horizontal surfaces. I also worked 1 hour on handling and filing back log of paper clutter ect. I made new files, shredded paper, and started a To Be Handle file for task that I could not complete quickly but had now deadline. Wait What About MeI did well thinking of myself... I did eat breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday this week I did not hit my goal to drink 16 oz of water every day --only 2 days -- but I did drink 8 oz everyday and that is an improvement. I did not hit 10,000 steps everyday -- snowed in is the excuses, but that is not a valid excuse, I could have walked more in the house. I did net of 7,000 steps everyday. Will update with this week goals a little later, I am still reflecting and evaluating best @next actions.

It's Monday.. this week's goal. Clear more spaces.
Today's goal - gather dishes from around the house, and finish washing today's dishes, and whatever backlog I can.
Top off green can, though weather might not cooperate.

I keep forgetting to post on this thread, which I found to be very useful last year. Here are my results from last week's plans: Sort out my locker, at least the Christmas stuff Bring up at least 1 (empty) tote, and start taking down decorations as I clean each room, and put into it. Ended up bringing up the 4 medium, 1 small Christmas totes from the locker and putting all decorations to go into locker into them, and relabeling them. Then restacked them in the locker Sort out extra wreaths, garlands, and contents of other Christmas totes and arrange them to donate next Nov. I emptied 1 large tote and managed to fit all wreaths and items that wouldn't fit in smaller ones in it. I kept 2 garlands with lights, fit in a smaller tote. Before I tossed (or kept) 3 old garlands and 1 old outdoor wreath (good shape, just dusty) I offered them to supers for the building and they happily took them. I still have 1 small tote of potential use or donations for next year, and if I don't use them, I will offer them to supers . daily exercising have done 3 out of 7 days empty 2016 files from my fabric cube and set up for 2018. NOT YET
