I have been without a hotwater heater for a very long time. When my daughter in law asked what I wanted for Christmas I told her that a water heater would be lovely. Well things happened and I ended up telling her to forget it that I changed my mind. It had to do with my ds saying something like "just tell her to clean it up" in regard to having the thing installed. Long story a little shorter, my sister got in touch with my brother, who bought me a water heater. My brother and husband of said sister came early saturday and got it installed. Neither said anything about my squalor. My brother said he would have done it sooner if I had let him know. Anyway I was able to use my dishwasher for the first time in ages and not have to boil water to bathe or do dishes. It is wonderful. I guess I am sorry I waited so long. It actually inspired me to clear out lots of bags of trash. Now I just have to borrow a truck next week and take a load to the dump. Unfortunately I was a sick this weekend or I would have gotten more done. But onward I go.

that`is wonderful. I am sure they both knew how hard it would be to really clean without readily available hot running water. It sounds like you have some good eggs in your family

I'm so happy for you! We never realize how much we love something like hot water until it is gone!! Great job on getting the bags of trash loaded up!

Yessss! Hurrah for hot water. I was without it for a while. I love my new furnace and water heater. Hot water from a tap, such a novelty! I thought the novlety would wear off, but it's been eight months, and hot water coming through my taps is still awesome to me. Not having to do daft things with saucepans is quite the relief, isn't it?

Hooray for hot water!
As difficult as it is, please don't let what ds said discourage you. You are moving forward, and should be proud of it.

Glad you got hot water again. Makes life so much easier. Back in Feb. I had a gas leak and had to have a plumber come out and do a pressure test and fix said leak. My water heater is gas. The gas company then had to have an inspector come out and check as well before they would turn my gas back on. Finally, after 2 weeks and 600 dollars, the gas was back on. The worst part was is that most of the heat for the house is by gas heaters, so we were cold alot.

A few years ago this happened to me. I knew the hot water heater was going. we barley had enough hot water to have a shower. Than it finally died. I tried to fix it myself but, I caught the thing on fire. We had no money none at all. My mother agreed to put a new water heater on her credit card. As we were picking one out at the store a neighbor of my stopped to say hi. He had a truck and was going home and agreed to take the water heater home for me no charge. My brother came and took the old one out and put the new one in place. He didn't know how to hook it up. Another neighbor was talking to my son and it happened that her husband was a plummer. He offered to come and help my brother hook it up. No charge!
I was truly blessed.

Yay for hot water.
Don't listen to those discouraging words! Now that you have hot water it will be easier to clean. At least that is true for me. Just keep plugging along and one day all those negatory people will have to eat their words!

Having been without various fixtures off and on over the years, and not able to get them fixed because of either no money or too much squalor, from the bottom of my heart I can truly say how happy I am for you.
I just wish I lived nearby so you could use my truck.

Thank you for all of your encouraging words. It is true what Limegreen said, "Not having to do daft things with saucepans is quite the relief, isn't it? " The old leaky water heater, which was removed last summer, unfortunately caused some rot in the kitchen floor, but not where the water heater is. It is nice to have people that helped me and did not give discouraging words as they did it. Congratulations to all of you who also have HOT water on tap. It is a joy.
