HAPPY FEBRUARY, everybody!
It's February 1st, and I hope it's OK for me to start the new month's WIT thread. I need it! Heads-up for tomorrow, Feb 2nd... Groundhog's Day! The guidelines for WIT are simple: - :) Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - :) Do one more little thing. - :) Do another little thing.
- Once you have 3 things done, post them here! - Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again. - You aren't required to do the 3 things you had planned on -- just get any 3 things done and then post proudly.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, :'( or just need to break your tasks down into something manageable, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of: - Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash . . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE-DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta-Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To-Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those 3 to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da! :D
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!!!

Ta-Dah! - reported hazardous situation at nearby construction site - rallied other residents to file reports, too... got immediate OSHA response and resolution, yay! - watched delightful Ellen birthday show
Now back to the mundane but essential daily health and household tasks...
To-Do - wash dishes and shine sink - walk the long way to grocery store, for good exercise and good food - PEEP purchases

To-Do - work 12 minutes on papers (20% of hour goal) - empty recycling and compost - work 12 more minutes on papers (40% of hour goal)

Great start to the month- well done! Got through the work week Grocery shopping Collapsed on the couch Start load of washing Start weekend list Think about setting some long term goals. I'm hopeless at goal setting. I'm ok once I've set the goal, I can work towards them quite happily and effectively but I really resist setting goals.

basic a.m. routine used little tray under coffee set-up to prevent coffee drips on counter (creating a new habit) damp mopped kitchen floor

dry, fold, put away wash load grocery list unload car from last night

Morning All It's Saturday morning, G is out for the day and it's chilly. I'm tempted to download a book and stay in bed but I've got things Breakfast for me Hang washing Fed hens Shift broccoli seedlings

Washing out Hens fed and water dish scrubbed and refilled Broccoli shifted Get dressed Sort through coats and jackets hanging on the door. I'm sure I don't needs them all Start breadmaker

Sorted coats- hung up 3 in wardrobe, 2 out, 2 pairs of shoes out and about 6 scarves out Dress out of wardrobe to try on to see if it still fits and will be ok to wear to wedding Started breadmaker Cleaned bathroom 75% Started a load of washing- they are all things that need a delicate wash, which I don't usually do. I may have to wash them again if the cycle I have chosen is too delicate Poo patrol Tidy kitchen Clean out lunch bag

Wow, great ta-da's, razy ! How are your chickens and the garden post-storm? Ta-Dah! - spent 3 more hours on red tape about urgent construction site problem... the whole morning devoured by that - finally had breakfast at noon... starving by then - wrote to-do list and shopping list To-Do - wash dishes and shine sink - shower, shampoo, and blow-dry - dress to go out for errands
