I wonder if there has been any reports overseas of dogs in Australia becoming ill after eating particular dog treat imported from China. The company has voluntarily withdrawn the product from sale. While the cause has not been identified, all the dogs had eating this one chicken meat treat. Luckily it wasn't something I bought for my dogs. www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/12/09/2441919.htm?section=justin

Not that I have heard and I am a news hound. Wow that is pretty scary and similar to what we had here in our pet's food! My brother almost lost his dog from the contaminated food epidemic we had here in the US. Her kidneys almost completely shut down. She has recovered but has a shortened life expectancy. This kind of thing is making me so angry. So much contamination coming from china. It scares me.
Hope all your pets are OK.

This is why i'm really upset we're still importing things like this from china. They can't get it together (not to be political, and nothing against the chinese), and until they do, that crap has no buisness here!

There are more things imported from (or made in) China that cause illness, or potential illness, than any other nation. Yet America and other nations continue to import them, and stores keep selling them. Many people have pets who died from the tainted pet food in the past. To me this is corporate greed in it's most evil form. Make pet food cheaper by adding Melamine, make toys cheaper by using lead paint. We are getting rich so who cares if animals die or kids get sick? The CEO's of the corporations here save money by not checking whether "safe" fillers were used, or whether lead paint was used, so they can get rich. Then they say "We're so sorry, we didn't know. We have recalled all of the stock, ect." The only ones who pay are the kids and the pets. 3G

Thanks for posting that Platypus, I hadn't heard about it. My dog likes Jer Hi Chicken strips, just hope that they aren't "sourced in China" too. I will check it out.

By the way......did anyone else hear about the tainted baby formula that had melamine in it? This was in the news last week and the baby formula was not from China. Heaven help us! 3G
