I have left a piece of sausage from a pizza on the living room floor since mid-November. I have not picked it up because it reminds me of a bug....And I am surprised real bugs haven't come because of it.
I will take care of it this evening, enough is enough!

Aaaugh! I sympathize!
I came home tonight to my (pretty darn clean) house to find my old friends, the ant family and their 7,000 relatives, had invaded poor kitty's food and water dishes.
Every year I manage to forget that they appear regularly once the weather gets chilly, and I must play "musical-food-dishes" with them till spring :-(
I'm afraid they've all been murdered now. But sadly I know 700,000 more are just waiting to come to the funeral.

I will take care of it this evening, enough is enough! Blackswan, I appreciate your honesty. It helps me, a new member, to feel like it is OK to be honest on this forum about how things are. That's one of the main reasons I like this discussion board. It seems like people are real here. And non-judgmental and caring. I like that. I'm glad that you posted, Blackswan. Good for you for deciding to take care of it this evening.

I would be glad to send my pug over to eat it. He eats anything! No matter how old or disgusting. Joy in Virginia

There are times when I would like to rent a dog, just to clean up under my dining room table after meals with my kids. Though I'm afraid with the age of some of the food under there, it wouldn't be good for the dog's health.

"Food under the table." Ahh that brings back memories. I remember being afraid of what was under there. Almost as much as what was under the couch...*shudder*
Glad you can now move on!

I used to have that problem...my solution was an area rug under the dining room table, that way I could just vacuum everything up once a week. I was surprisingly way easier to do than sweep, plus the color of the rug masked the icky that was down there waiting for the weekly vacuuming...

I have three houses - two of them at big messes. Today, I set up a schedule of what to do each hour after I got off work. My noon to 1:00 time was to go next door to house number 2, go into the attic and continue to bring material down to the second floor apartment and then bring the material over home to count it, box it up and take it to a church ladies group that makes quilts - and I get my tax write off. Well, during the summer, that attic had squirrels in it - I watched them run the electric wire to the house, climb the downspout and onto the roof, and in through a roof vent. Well, today when I was moving the material, I felt something under my foot - a dead squirrel with no fur left on it - the bushy tail is thin like a mouse. I think that is ick. My time in the attic was just about done - so the next time that I schedule time for the attic, I will have to deal with that dead animal. I hate dead animals, I will deal with larger live animals with no problem - and live squirrels are the easiest thing to deal with.

lulu-I'm with you sister, I don't have a dishwasher either. When I did, I still let things pile up, so I don't know if it truly saved me any time. The only thing I hate about hand washing is having the dish drainer out all of the time. I let them air dry, so it isn't like I'm going to put away between washings... Hang in there!
