Does anyone have ideas or know of a good product to get that hazy coating off of the inside of car windows? I'm not a smoker, it just appears. I always seem to make it worse with Windex. It gets all smeary. Thought of washing it with soapy water first, then windex afterward but don't know if that would help or hurt. This has puzzled me for years.
We're getting "weather" soon so today and tomorrow morning will be my last chance for awhile.
Anne.

I know something about this subject as my DH is a serious 'car guy'. This is an issue that DRIVES HIM CRAZY for years. The haze itself is a by-product of the defrost, fan, air conditioning, and heating systems. There is only so much you can do about it. But the following things help: *never swipe the fogged up window with your bare hand or even gloved hand. USE A RAG or a microfibre cloth or PAPER TOWEL. Keep something in the car just for the windows. This may be the single most important 'rule' to observe. *great thing for windows: those expensive blue garage paper towels *DH will also use wadded-up old newspapers *windex (or any type of window cleaning product) is good. Try to clean the window once (don't use soap) BEFORE the bad weather comes *there are special SWIPES available in auto-type supply stores, just for windows--obviously other people have noticed this problem too *at a regular car wash, DO NOT let the guys swipe your windows inside: do it yourself. Their cloths are filthy good luck, and if you ever find the perfect solution, please let me know, so that I can tell my DH.

Having never cleaned the inside of my truck windows I couldn't personally say, but I read a lot about how good microfiber cloths are for cleaning windows.

Dad, an ultra cleanie when it comes to his car, has a microfiber cloth that feels like a faux chamois leather, he keeps it in the glove box for the purpose.
