I'm up and have enthusiasm in my heart. 4 days left in '23! done: -checked what I want to do in the bedroom today -checked how laundry is drying. Always slow indoors at this time of year. -cocoa made and sipped Todo: -clear under a small table in the bedroom -shift boxes in bedroom to get them out of the way. I want much more open floor space. -vacuum While Motivation usually does follow Action, you gotta start the Action first.

I'm up and have enthusiasm in my heart. 4 days left in '23! While Motivation usually does follow Action, you gotta start the Action first. Hey BetsyMarie! I attend CLA meetings which uses some AA literature. Today's reading was "Suit up and Show up" It reminds me of one of the decluttering books I read many years ago where they stressed getting up, getting dressed, and start moving! "Suiting up and showing up are the concrete actions I take in my ongoing return to normal living." (Daily Reflections) ta-da: Did the dishes (actually moved them to the dishwasher) Did a bit of food prep, gave cat her meds Got the mail, gave the hens some sunflower seeds to-do: Spend some time tidying up... Maybe I should try the dice game? It's been a while since I've done that...

Hello and good day WITers! I was up and out early for a chiro appt. I'm now back home with a few hours to get a few things done and relax before having a neighbor over for pizza.
TA DA Got up earlier than I have been recently. Put away clean dishes Finished washing dishes - all done for one brief moment! Quickly tidied downstairs Gathered up a few loads of laundry Quick shower, got dressed Loaded car Made it to appt on time Trip to bank to deposit and check and get some quarters for laundry Off to laundromat to put in laundry Filled car with gas Quick trip to deli to pick up sandwich that sick friend was craving Avoided going to markets to get food that I don't need at this moment - have plenty at home Picked up laundry Dropped off sandwich Unloaded car Made a plan with neighbor for this evening Made and enjoyed healthy lunch and relaxed
Whew!!
TO DO Take dishes into kitchen Take misc items in foyer upstairs 10 minutes deal with laundry - get out drying racks and hangers, start hanging wet laundry (would be awesome to focus and finish it all at once...)

Hello and good day WITers! I was up and out early for a chiro appt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Avoided going to markets to get food that I don't need at this moment - have plenty at home That early start really got you going! Good job not shopping. Let's hear it for inventory control! {Tangentially related: Years ago, a woman who had a frugality newsletter ( The Tightwad Gazette--Amy Dacyczyn) said that interviewers always wanted to show what she did--hanging clothes to dry, getting the very last bits of food out of jars, but not what she didn't do--driving right by McDonald's, ignoring entire aisles in the grocery store. She thought what she didn't buy was at least as important as the frugal activities.} Ally You have reminded me that it's far too late in the day to not be showing up. I will suit up after I post. BetsyMarie Good job cleaning, and good luck with relocating those boxes. Washed dishes. Had meds and made bed. Took out recycling. Get dressed. Shovel sidewalk. Find more papers and other things to declutter.

Good afternoon, guys and dolls! I got the old tablet up and running to see how everyone was doing. It's been months since I was here, too. It's nice to see familiar names. TA-DAH 1. Went to the bank and got everything squared away with address changes, accounts, etc. 2. Closed the PO Box and got a refund of $2 - every bit helps 3. Packed up a bag and a box of stuff; donated it. Of course, I went into the thrift shop afterwards for photo frames. TO DO 1. Laundry 2. Put away Christmas decorations 3. Vacuum and maybe mop

Good afternoon all!
ta-da: Started the dice game... The first roll had me cleaning up the kitchen a bit to start out. (I packed up and put away a bunch of canning jars that were on the countertops.) After that I started cooking some food to pack in my lunch tomorrow 2nd roll: Cleaning up the upstairs hallway: I took a large handful of papers and shredded them.
to-do: Continue with dice game Water house plants
Later: Clean out chicken coop (about 1/2 hour before dusk) Shower before bedtime. Prep stuff for going to work tomorrow. (Need to make sure I have meeting notes etc.)

"(The Tightwad Gazette--Amy Dacyczyn)" I remember her. Being a tightwad is partially what helped get me into this situation. And the fact that many times, saved things do indeed come in handy some day. . Not from her, but one of my favorite money expressions is "a dollar saved is 2 dollars earned" . I just heard on a totally non clutter related video, that anything big worth achieving is going to be painful. You have to be willing to suffer to get to where you want to go. I'll have to remember this when heading back into the bedroom. I guess it's the old 'no pain, no gain" thing. done: -getting rid of a new pair of shoes - to a friend -cleared in a better way the stuff on the dresser top -moved a few things to their final homes. todo: -eat something -take out recy -go through a box in the bedroom - there are several, but I have to start somewhere.

Hey goldenthreads Exercised Clothes away Washing hung Some superficial vacuuming Found and plugged in iron - I am almost finished a sewing project. Sewing is one of these things that causes me unnecessary anxiety and I want to face it instead of avoiding it. I would really like to be able to sew. This project is a confidence building exercise rather than making something useful. It is a chance to challenge my perfectionism Finish sewing project.

seahorse I had a post office box for many years but with the price rising, I had to decide how risky it is to get packages at home. Considering they're clearly marked "books", I don't think I have to worry too much. 1. Laundry 2. Put away Christmas decorations 3. Swept a bit I had to get some paint for a project. Found some in my price range in a mom-and-pop place that hadn't raised the prices yet. 1. Wash sink full of dishes 2. Put favorite dishtowels in drawer and donate those that don't fit (this is a theme now) 3. Take down the outdoor decorations
