goldenthreads, I culled some refrigerator items too. ta-da: Worked on taxes for a few minutes X2 sessions. I think most of my stuff for Federal is done. I need some info from DH still. Then need to do state and local. Made a huge pot of soup. I need to make room in the fridge for it now. Checked work email. Completed Wellness assignment (If we complete enough assignments over the course of a year, we get a gift card worth $125.) to-do Put soup away Complete a Duolingo assignment There is a CLA meeting that I hope to call in to shortly. The meetings seem more tense than usual lately, so I'm not sure, about this, but I guess I can always hang up if it isn't going well. Brush teeth and get ready for bed.

done: -went shopping, but forgot to take my list which I had purposely left by the front door. Fortunately I remembered everything -brought everything perishable into the house -divided items and froze those that needed it. -brought bins up from the street
I really enjoyed shopping today at the big-box. I hadn't been since way before the holidays when I was trying to avoid crowds. I'll go again sooner next time.

BetsyMarie, WTG for getting everything on your list! Sometimes I go into a store wanted to get 3 things, and I walk out without one of the things, but a few things not on my list. DustyD Yay for getting stuff put away! ta-da: Meds to cat, scratch grains to chickens. They were making a ruckus out there, I'm not sure if a predator was close by, I didn't see anything Started a batch of yogurt (Milk is heating) Loaded and started the dishwasher Eating my breakfast now to-do: Continue to sort papers. DH had pointed out that with my activity restrictions I should be focusing on this. I have been shuffling papers around and need to create some files for some of this stuff. Continue with next step of yogurt making, but that won't start for about an hour (cooling phase) Remind DH to see if he can log in to get financial documents for taxes. He doesn't remember his passwords and can't get passed the 2-factor authentication. Laundry? Empty the dishwasher? CLA meetings.

ta-da: Started load of laundry Sorted (shredded or tossed) a pile of paper into the recycling bin. None in that pile needed to be saved Milk for yogurt has been heated. St this point I normally put the pot into an ice bath in the kitchen sink to cool for about 60-75 minutes, but with my lifting restrictions, I'm not sure I want to lift and move that container of hot liquid, so I might just let it cool on the stove top?
to-do: CLA meeting starts soon. Empty the dishwasher later Continue with laundry later File papers that need to be filed. Stop shuffling them from one pile to another. Create new folders as needed.

Good day goldenthreads, I decluttered some things out of my fridge as well. I'm going to wait a few weeks before I do the whole thing because it takes too much bending and lifting. ta-da: I've been listening to the CLA phone line this morning/afternoon as I work Completed a load of laundry Emptied the dishwasher Ate a bit of lunch Yogurt is now incubating. to-do: Tidy up kitchen Create files and sort papers into them Continue to recycle or shred papers as I go through them. (I compost what I shred.) Some food prep for later today and breakfasts later this week (I soaked beans overnight, and I'll make overnight oatmeal or barley for the breakfasts) Check on the chickens Get the mail Review papers from medical leave of absence. I don't want to mess anything up!

Done -Shower -Confirmed a doctor appointment -Moved some money around to earn a little more interest To Do -Yesterday's laundry into dryer -Start today's laundry -Some financial data entry Ally I'm curious about the barley. Do you cook regular barley for breakfast or do you buy a special barley cereal? I like it, and I know it's good for bringing down cholesterol. But all I know to do with it is put it in soup.

Ally I'm curious about the barley. Do you cook regular barley for breakfast or do you buy a special barley cereal? I like it, and I know it's good for bringing down cholesterol. But all I know to do with it is put it in soup. At one time, years ago, I found that when I ate oatmeal, I'd get stomach cramps. There are 2 stores near me that sell barley that is rolled, so it is flattened like oatmeal, once I decided to substitute it for oatmeal and it worked and I didn' get any stomach cramping, so I regularly substitute it for oatmeal. The Quacker Oats product is called "Quick Barley" but can be hard to find. I sometimes buy it at a local health food store where they call it "barley flakes". I just looked online, and some places call it rolled or pressed barley. It looks different than the pearled barley that is used in soups, but probably tastes the same if you cooked it plain.

Ally thanks for the barley info. It looks like I can get the Quaker quick ones at Walmart, or flakes from Amazon. I'll try to get some in February. Done -Yesterday's laundry into dryer -Start today's laundry -Some financial data entry Also ran the dishwasher, did a lot of researching, thinking and decision making about how to be better organized about money this year. See you in the February thread.
