Happy weekend folks! Thanks for kicking us off lennon! Done: Dusted living room shelves Changed towels kitchen Changed towels downstairs bathroom Cleared air dryer Load of laundry Achieved laundry zero Vacuumed downstairs I don't have any big project plans for this weekend at home. I've got some work to do for a work event on Tuesday (that is going to be all day so I may need to plot carefully to get my three maintenance tasks done), seeing friends tonight and getting hair done tomorrow, so probably just a few little things here and there.

So much has happened since my last post. My father in law passed away after a very long battle with Parkinson’s disease. His Celebración of Life is tomorrow. I have things to do today to prepare for that. Our hearts are so sad. Also, I have developed crisis level hypertension and cholesterol levels, so I started all sorts of new medication. I am grappling with lifestyle changes I must make. All of this to say, I am emotionally and physically exhausted. But I have to clean today because I think I am getting company from out of town! I wish they wouldn’t come. I know that’s an awful attitude, but it’s just adding to my stress because of the state of my home. Sigh.
I am going to race to 100, but only take 5 or ten minute breaks, not 15-30. For anyone new to this game I play for myself, I simply touch (and deal with) 100 items and then come back here and update my done list and take a break before touching one hundred more things.
Done: Gave check and deposit slip to my hubby for bank deposit

TwinkleToes I am sorry to hear about your father-in-law's passing. Also sorry to hear about your increased health problems. It is not an awful attitude at all to wish that out-of-town company wouldn't come. That is a perfectly normal way to feel. I imagine very few people would be prepared to host out-of-towners when something suddenly happens. Please put your own health needs first.

Good morning everyone!
TT, I'm sorry about your FIL, I remember how good you were about going to stay with him when needed. I think you need a vacation from all of your relatives for a while--you deserve some stress free weeks!
This morning there was less snow to shovel, maybe 2-3 inches in the back yard due to drifting, but only an inch on the front sidewalk. So I repeated what I did yesterday but it took less time. I even had to push the upstairs door open again, this time it was just frozen shut instead of having snow packed up against it. Tonight is when the very cold weather starts so I will probably be nervous about it for the next week, especially for the next three days when it will be extra cold. Each time I look at the forecast they make the next three days a little colder, now 2 of the 3 have a high below freezing.
I'm going to call my decluttering client now to get that out of the way.

Twinkletoes, sending you lots of love. I understand company is the last thing you need at the moment. I know you'll get what you need to do done, because you are an absolute boss, but do be kind to yourself too.

TwinkleToes---I am so sorry about your DFil. My DH had Parkinson's as well, and it is a real struggle. That was not the cause of his death, but it did cause some grief. I am sorry that your family is dealing with this sorrow. And I can certainly relate to your health worries. Last year , my BP went into a crisis level too and no meds at first helped it. Eventually I was sent to a nephrologist and he came up with the right combo to get it down to a normal level with not much in the way of side effects. So there is hope for you ! Hang in there ! Wow, I get it that you wish the people weren't coming to your home now. I try so hard to keep up with homemaking tasks and most places are sort of OK, but there are absolutely spots that are not OK and my energy spoons just are taking a long while to get to those. I would NOT be happy to host people that had to stay at my home. My den, for example, where my computer is, has stuff scattered on the floor. There are boxes and boxes of photos that "someday" I want to put into books. It never happens. I just never seem to get to this room, other than vacuuming parts of it. Since it looks like you are stuck with hosting, please just hit the places that you can do without too much stress. Try and put your health first and do what you can to lower the work. Maybe getting carry-out. Maybe getting your hubby to help , etc. I would focus on having a comfortable bed for them and a clean bathroom. Those things will affect them the most. Take care. This. too, will pass . I rely on that last sentence a lot. catcats

TwinkleToes I am so sorry to hear about your FIL. And to have unexpected company staying at your house would be a struggle for me even on the happiest day...I hope you are able to rest and take care of yourself. I have a lot to do this weekend but no plan as of yet I have a significant chunk of work work to do. I am going to set a timer and spend one hour on it. There will be more left This weekend, I want to get to church and this is a big football weekend too I need to do some financial things pay DD tuition move money to accounts pay any other bills fill out a form for insurance research how to correct my 2022 tax submission as a first step to my January challenge some goals are clean dining room table by putting away christmas tablecloth, placemats, centerpiece, as well as paper put away mantle decorations mostly stockings hung by the chimney with care I am going to leave my artificial tree up for a bit I sent a note out to my sibs to see if they want my old artificial tree; if not, I will arrange to have it taken to landfill. sad as it was my parents but it is a bit worse for wear and I don't have room for two trees. plus I have reached a point of never wanting to put lights on a tree again! I will also take puppy for a walk go to grocery store for at least catfood (I don't have a list ready yet) I set a challenge for me to remove 10 items from my closet our weather is not nice. I am usually game for any weather but we are again having high winds, cold and wet. Have a good day all

DD1 and I got so much done yesterday (and maybe the day before? I can't remember) and today I am very sore and very grumpy. Trips to the storage units with heavy things, going thru books there and boxing, taking books to the place that buys them, taking donations to wherever, grocery shopping, more work in garage (never-ending). This morning I heard a thump and my first reaction was oh no, did something in this house break, is there another problem? I am always on edge it seems.
I saw something pass the window and realized it was a delivery guy. By the time I got to the front door and opened it he was already in his truck. I hurried to the driveway (all bent up, in crappy, stained work clothes, grey hair flying in the wind, arms waving) and asked if he was our new Fed Ex guy (the old one told me he was leaving). The guy said yeah and I asked him in the future to please leave all packages at the garage, not the front door. He said ok and backed out.
DD1 and I opened the box at the front door (it was laying in wetness from rain, with no plastic) and started unloading cases of canned cat food. Then those had to be carried to the garage where they are stored. PITA!!! Then my timer went off to remind me to get up and move around so my back doesn't get too stiff. DD1 said, "Mom something is beeping." and I d*mn near lost it. Like I wasn't moving around enough already; not that the timer knew that.
Absolutely nothing wrong with any of that really. But it was a tiny little feather on top of the load I have been trying to ignore, just plowing thru, and I said, I'm done. My back hurts, my head hurts, I am SO TIRED! Of course it doesn't help at all that I fuel up in the morning on caffeine and sugar. I laid down for 15 minutes and am back up to do whatever.

TwinkleToes you are getting so much done in tough circumstances!! I just spent 2.5 hours on work work! i think I have 3.5 hours to go!! Not now though = I need to get to the store then walk puppy. I vastly underestimated the time of this project! it is very important and must be done. maybe I'll devote tonight to it. it is my own fault to have it this weekend, earlier in the week on Mon and Tues I was very tired and low productivity. I did have some breaks in the 2.5 hours -- play with puppy, tend to cats, chat with DD. Next - get ready, to pet store, to grocery store Hope I can find a good harness for my pupster.

I'm just checking in to say I'm alternating my computer game with PEEPing, so that I'll be able to get back to baseline today--I'm making good progress.
