Diane and bree thanks for your encouragement!! It is easier to donate when the need for donations is urgent. I am deeply grateful for the warmth and security of our home. When I think of others in great need of warmth it is much easier to let go of what will be used immediately. This weather is the best time for us to let go of extra sweatshirts, sweatpants, gloves and neck warmers. We put thick socks in too but I'm not sure if those will get used. A lot of places want new. Last month we did buy lots of new blankets and Bombas socks for my acupuncturist to take to her shelter.
But I am not so good with the donations really. There were a few times I was too quick about getting something out and then I regretted it so much. Sometimes the donations will sit where I can see them until it is the *right* time to let go.
We got the clothes and hygiene donations to church. We decided that since the towels were brand new to take them to a homeless shelter for people. We still have plenty of used towels to wash up for the animal shelter. Grocery store and gas took priority over the heavy bankers boxes of stuff. Books and non-perishable foods will stay in the family room for awhile.
The other important errand was to get trash and recyclables out. I completely forgot about the post office. Not going back out. Time to baby the back.
Oh, I did see something crazy at the grocery store. I was thinking of Bree's yummy food for football games and decided to get a treat that DD1 loves ~ tiny hot dogs wrapped in pretzel dough. We haven't bought those in over a year. A box of 36 frozen tiny hot dogs was $29.99!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe it!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say that box (long with many others) is still sitting in the freezer case.

Moving very slowly today, using lots of pain relief cream on my back. It never seems to help but I keep slathering it on.
I don't know how much or how often you're "slathering it on," but I hope you're careful with the dosage. Years ago a high school cross-country runner used a lot of the stuff on her legs and ended up dying of the accumulation. Sorry to be a non-expert worry wart, but thought I'd pass this on. I hope you find some relief soon. peaceseeker Very glad to see you back with improved health.

Hello golden!
I just spent almost an hour on the phone with my shopping friend, and almost all of that time was trying to figure out her clothing, and in the end we still didn't do it. I had ordered some tops from her from a couple of different places, different brands and colors. She was totally mixed up about which ones fit her, which ones didn't, ones she thought were a particular brand and color were not, according to my order records. Finally she said she'd have to see if an aide had time to help her look at the clothes in her closet and figure out exactly what she wanted me to order. Apparently the aides rarely have time for things like that.
Afterwards I stood up and realized my neck and shoulders hurt really bad again--definitely stress. I want to help her so much but there's only so much I can do from far away.
I fed the dog and she didn't want to go out again, which could be good or bad. Good if she can wait now until 8.
They moderated next week's forecast, to be colder the first part of the week, closer to 30 degrees than 40.
And, we finally got some mail! There was no mail Saturday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, even though my morning email showing what mail I'm supposed to get showed some every day. I can see Tuesday because it was still 2 degrees, but Saturday and Wednesday weren't.
I wanted to work on a plant this afternoon but I don't feel like it now--it's a hylocereus undata, which outside in warm climates grows to be a big "dragon fruit" plant. Inside, it grows to be a small cactus. This one started out as a "moon cactus". I don't know if anyone knows what they are, but they are grafted cactuses--they take a colorful round part and graft it onto a hylocereus because it looks different and exotic and people buy them. What they don't know is that once grafted, they die within 2-3 years. I did not buy this "moon cactus" but when my upstairs condo neighbor moved he gave me one that his kids had bought. When I looked them up I was horrified that they did this to plants, and found out that if I removed the top decorative part of the plant, the hylocereus part would probably survive. Well, mine did, but because it's inside instead of in hot sun all year round it just grew various gawky stems all over the place. From the stems, roots grow, because it's looking to attach itself to something. I am going to cut the plant up into segments and try to root them as a plant with all the stems coming up from the middle, just to see what happens. It does not look like a happy healthy plant the way it is now, I'm hoping this helps. But it will take a while and I don't think I have the energy for it today. I think I'll do some watering instead until dinner time.

reve yay for clean surfaces!!!! Every so many years the oak trees do not have acorns - i have no idea why this occurs but most years my drive way and yard are full of acorns and squirrels The year they go missing, I feed the squirrels a couple of times a week. I managed to get my trash and recycle out on the curb today. I also went over to visit mom and got her set up with her new phone. I should have bought a different iphone. I got her one like she had before SE in hopes it would be familiar. But then realized it did not have facial recognition. I thought they all did now days. So we did the touch at the bottom and I was teaching her how to use siri. It was not going well - she would just say the command part without the hey siri part. I think it will take a while. I programmed it but she needs practice with it. DInner sort of stunk. The Thai place i like is closed for January - I think they are all on vacation somewhere warm after working the Holiday season. The other Thai place is not open and their phone is not working - I wonder if they are closed. It got dark to soon to go further out particularly as it is snowing and ice. So it was peanut butter and crackers for dinner with some orange marmalade.

Hello TML--peanut butter sounds like the best kind of dinner to me!
Enjoy your class, scholar!
I didn't work on plants, instead I deleted emails. I'm trying to go back to the oldest ones even though they're hardest.
I forgot about wanting to clean the seed pool until it was dark, now it's going to snow tonight--oh well, "it's not the end of the world!"
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow!

It never occurred to me that it could accumulate so I do appreciate the warning! The only precaution I take is to wash that area before I use the heated bean bags on it.
I am always open to advice/warnings of any kind, thank you!!

Good evening everypony!
art class was fun--I did some guerrilla facilitation. Saw an opening to make a suggestion, and she asked me to remind her next class. I told her I was Miss Facilitation.
I was worn out by the end. Hadn't taken anything out for dinner, so we opened cans. Then I asked DVD take me to the attic and show me the train/dollhouse layout he has been thinking about. While we were up there, I pointed to the space I had made for the giant tub and asked if we could bring it up. So finally got the holiday bins upstairs!
To make that space, I brought down the big bags of doll boxes. I have cut up the boxes in one, plus the boxes for the dolls I opened for Christmas. The boxes are a huge part of what makes this brand interesting (MGA). I am keeping some artwork and clear panels and small shapes and name labels. Some day I want to make some fold-up doll rooms to use for pictures. I also want to put name tags on their stands, to differentiate between the 16 different versions of pink!
So I think I will work on that tonight. Maybe watch the tube.

Hi People ! Diane, too bad your shopping friend could not figure out which new clothes she would need and use. Maybe another time ? Danny15---You sure did get a lot done toward getting a lot of things out the door. You and your DD1 amaze me ! Prepping for the next snow was a good thing to do. We are in the same state and I am wondering just how much we will get ! Yesterday and today, I have been doing a lot of PUPA and a lot of laundry. No actual cleaning though. I did do all the dailies. Did a little snow removal, but not much use trying to do more until tomorrow's falls. I did do some business type things both days. There were unauthorized charges on my CC bill and I disputed those. One was from a dating service, . I may not have to make a small stream tonight to keep pipes OK. Seems warmer, still below freezing, but not waaay low tonight. Wishing good things for all. catcats

Friday! Happy dance sort of. This is DD last weekend home …will miss her!
Last night I just walked the pup after work and that was it except for dishes
It was in the 20s and felt so warm!!
Today I have fed the animal tribe Took puppy to daycare Did work emails
Need to head into office shortly. I have a big scary meeting. Very important project big team. Two people want it to go badly and both will gaslight. One actually lies shamelessly. I actually have a stomach ache after all these work years. One thing is chaos will be there which is good but she will start texting me “say this say that”… I get very distracted by her texts and lose the thread if the conversation. So I will try not to read them!!

I'm really feeling the effects of a lot of *too much* activity yesterday outside the house. Today I will have to take things slowly with a lot of laying down breaks.
Three times this morning I have brushed snow off the deck rail right next to the laundry room door and spread tiny bird seed along it. Then I stood there and videotaped all the birds rushing to eat. Sparrows, chickadees, bluebirds, so many of them! Two blue jays and two cardinals (male and female) but they are more cautious about approaching the door where I am videotaping at the big window. Then they see the tiny birds with no fear and they must figure they better get in there before it all disappears. It is so cool and absolutely delights me! I am so very grateful to be able to have nature all around me!!!

Good morning everyone!
I hope your meeting goes well, bree.
There were unauthorized charges on my CC bill and I disputed those. One was from a dating service
Catcats, that's funny about the dating service! But not funny about the charges--will they make you get a different card number since that happened? I wonder if there are still legitimate errors made on wrong charges like that, or if it's always fraud.
I woke up to about 2 inches of snow, and the dog surprised me by wanting to go out right after breakfast, so I had to hurry out to clear the back porch for her. I didn't shovel in the back since it was such a small amount, I did clear the front porch and shovel in the front. I stupidly wore a pair of gloves instead of my warm mittens and when I came in my little finger on my right hand was numb and painful for a long time--but it's finally back to normal now. The temp is 10 degrees and feels like 6 below, so today and tomorrow will still be cold. Sunday is still predicted to be 20 degrees and the days after all in the upper 30s. Every day next week shows possible precipitation and I realized that even if Monday was dry, I couldn't shop then anyway--I wouldn't be able to walk on the snowy sidewalks. I will have to wait until it's warm for enough days for the snow to melt and not freeze over again overnight.
I cleared off the upper back porch too and put seed out for the birds. Now I'm finally finishing up breakfast and deciding what my priorities are for today.
Diane
