Tonight I am focusing on clearing out some of the clutter in my car I am also shooting to move the dresser into the "clothing room" (I should call it my boutique or department store) Any bins that have decorations will get moved from the clothing room into the guest room Move the shelf in the corner of the clothing room into the guest room and all of the decorative items as well this is really making a difference upstairs I have already found a bed frame I can get rid of At work I keep a really good magnifying mirror (small round one) and a good pair of tweezers on my desk. I have an excellent light over my desk and on days when there are few staff here - I can pluck my chin hairs. Well the mirror and tweezers went missing! I searched high and low, in drawers, in packed boxes, all over. Could not find them. I looked in local drug stores and big box stores to replace them. The only good mirror I could find was $20 and I refused to spend that much. Today I picked up and moved my desk phone and there was the mirror and tweezers, underneath the phone. I was so happy!

Ohblondie, now I have a mental image of you plucking your chin hairs in a large, empty office...
The front porch looks a lot better. Besides dried plant bits on the windowsills there were also water stains even though I had drip trays under the plants that were there, so I cleaned all those up, swept and straightened the things out there. Big difference even though the floor should really be mopped--that's not going to happen any time soon. Any time I do any physical work my back immediately starts hurting, so now I'm resting it. Oh, I also fed the dog and took her out to the yard. The snow is mostly melted so now I have to keep her away from the muddy areas that don't have mulch on them.
After I rest for a bit I want to sweep the area around the dog's ottoman, and vacuum the hair off of it--at least, the hair that will come off, not all of it ever does. I need to find my hair removing sponge-thingy which I haven't seen since I moved here.
Then I will eat lunch.

My list was:
finish project R start and finish project S send a very important email to a group talk with a vendor do first draft of project L send another email to get a project rolling
so of my list above I only worked on project R and I did not finish it. i unearthed some mistakes I made and I had to call in reinforcements - actually alert some financial people. ugh. I did it. And now it is a thing. The people that I talked to were very reassuring but it needs to get elevated to get fixed. My annual review is coming up so the timing is not great at all. However, I am glad I brought it up; in my experience trying to hide bad stuff only makes it badder but ...ugh a lug. so I have done all I can at this point on project R : (
it involved four phone conversations -- after they were done I took a wasteful lunch on the couch. and did stress eating, well over eating. need to take deep breaths! I'll have to update chaos on Monday as it is now a Thing.
my plan of attack for the afternoon in order with estimate times: send a very important email to a group .75 hour send another email to get a project rolling .25 hour do first draft of project L 1 hour talk with a vendor .25 hour start and finish project s .1 hour
That is 3.25 hours. that will pretty much take me to the close of business.

Bree, sorry you found a mistake, but as you say, better to find it, and to admit it. I love how you estimate times for your afternoon tasks, it's so easy to overestimate how much we can do!
Oust, yes, I got my neck warmer, I love it! I did use it a few times the first day and I think it helped the neck pain, I still have a mild version of it though, I'm not sure why it's lingering so long. The weather is good now, I'm not under any more stress than usual--although I guess I am more worried about the dog since she's slowly declining. The neck warmer has handles so I can also massage my neck at the same time the muscles are warming, so I really am happy with it.
I'm eating lunch now.
After lunch my next project is to use my rubbery broom on the porch to try to sweep up the wet seed husks. I've been waiting for a dry day and there just don't seem to be any of those lately! I think the rubber broom will be better with the wet debris.

Okay, now I'm tired. The broom worked really well on the upper porch to collect all the debris, but because it's so wet out there, there is a muddy looking coating on everything that needs to be washed away by a hose (which can't happen until the weather gets warm) or a good hard rain. I moved things out there and swept up as well as I could, I also cleaned out the seed pool and the table and everything that I could sweep. There is more to do out there but I think I reached my limit for today. Next I'll have to sweep the lower porch, since seed falls down between the cracks in the boards, but it's a lot easier job than the upper porch.
Next I will have to figure out something productive I can do while sitting down resting my back.

Diane you are so productive!
So I did it. my plan of attack for the afternoon in order with estimate times: send a very important email to a group .75 hou -- Done and time about right send another email to get a project rolling .25 hour -- done and time about right do first draft of project L 1 hour - did a first draft, took a little less time talk with a vendor .25 hour - done and time was right start and finish project s .1 hour - have a very solid first draft. took a little less than an hour. will revisit Monday
next - wrap up any loose ends, end work day, chill, do dishes, pay a bill, stop at store for a few items, pick up puppy from daycare, fall asleep on couch!

Made today a mental health day, got out to the allotment in the sunshine and tried a new exercise class. I'm going to count helping to load up the skip at the allotment as part of the weekday work along, even if it's not strictly decluttering my own space. Clothes bag and lunch sorted for work tomorrow and I'm feeling ok tonight

Bree, cool that your times were close--you have a good idea of how long things take you!
I fed the dog again and we went out to the yard. My Walmart order came and I opened the box but didn't put stuff away. Aside from some other items, I ordered 3 boxes of Triscuit crackers, and I received 2 boxes of Triscuits and a large bottle of ketchup! I did not order ketchup. However, it is the brand of ketchup I buy, and I do use ketchup, so I think I will leave it alone. I could get a refund for the other box of crackers and they would probably tell me to keep the ketchup. But since the dollar value is close, a little bit in my favor, and I'll use the ketchup, and ketchup keeps for a long time--I will just let it be. But somewhere someone is going to open a box expecting ketchup, and instead get a box of low-sodium Triscuits!
I also got a brief call from my shopping friend, she sounded ready to order clothing but after we talked for 10 minutes she said she was getting a stomach ache and asked if she could call later instead. She said she frequently gets stomach aches from a daily supplement drink they want her to take, I hope she's telling them about it.
Now I will wash some dishes and think about what I need to prepare for dinner.

Okay, my new found tolerance for insects might be tested this spring and summer. The 17-year cicadas will be out in our area! The last couple times they were out here I was living several miles north of here and didn't see any. I have no idea if I'm far south enough to see them this year.
I only saw large numbers of them one time, when I was a teenager, and my family went for a day out to a much more rural area than where we were living. Not only were they flying all over the place and smacking into me, but there were dead ones and half-dead ones on the ground and you couldn't even walk without crunching them. I freaked out so badly that we had to go home early... I am worlds better now, but I still don't know how I would react if there were a lot of them just flying into me and all over the ground. And I think the 17-year ones don't look like the cute green ones that are the annual ones--they are a little scarier looking. But I guess I'll find out!
