I'll go first I want to lose weight and to fit into my clothes. But I slip up and indulge in eating a big bowl of ice cream. Now I've blown my diet for the day (or worse) I might as well eat what I want now. or I could enjoy every bite of the ice cream and go for a jog later. I'm still on my healthy eating plan and I even look for a healthy alternative the next time at the grocery store.

for some reason I always go to the worst scenario in every issue and stumbling block that comes up.... like my whole life is a catch 22. I'm working on changing some of my thought processes too. Like when I'm getting overwhelmed with how much stuff needs to be done around here (usually because something has broken and now it will take money and or time to get fixed on top of everything else). I've just been trying to focus on day to day stuff and the most important things to get done. I have come to realize I can only do so much in a day. I'm only one person and I can only do what I can do. But one of the things I can do is to keep going, a little at a time and talk myself through it.

Love that maryinaz that you keep going even when life throws you a curve ball , little by little...talking yourself through it. That is determination.

Thanks so much for sharing the article and suggested tool. The thought i most often find myself thinking is, “I am so overwhelmed. I am a failure” Then I just sit in my chair scrolling Facebook and watching YouTube. The thought should be, “How can I break this overwhelming task into a small piece that feels totally doable?”

Thanks so much for sharing the article and suggested tool. The thought i most often find myself thinking is, “I am so overwhelmed. I am a failure” Then I just sit in my chair scrolling Facebook and watching YouTube. The thought should be, “How can I break this overwhelming task into a small piece that feels totally doable?” Sometimes I find myself just sitting and know I should be doing something but can't hardly make myself move. I try to go to "OK I have a few minutes, what can I do, right here, right now, to make tomorrow better" Sometimes it's picking up some trash or taking full bags outside to the can. Sometimes it's throwing away the science experiment on the counter. Sometimes it's just a quick run through the house putting things away. Or doing some paperwork or deleting emails or starting some laundry.... Any little thing that will make tomorrow better in some small measure. If I'm really struggling mentally it will be some mindless, decisionless task like sweep the floor or dust the cobwebs.
