Good morning!
Thanks for starting the thread, lennon, and Happy Easter to you!
There was a lot of rain last night but no thunder or downpours, at least not during the times I was awake. Still raining some but it should be over soon, at least until later today.
Yesterday felt like Saturday to me, so today feels like Sunday. I guess I will just be mixed up all weekend!

Hi lennon and Diane and all to come! catcats so glad to hear good news about the baby! So this is the first day in a very long time that I was able to wake up and have nothing to do!!!and I am just relishing it when I went to bed last night I was so excited because I knew I was going to be able to just sleep as long as the animals would allow and and not have to rush out the door or do any commitments so I’ve had a very quiet morning puttering about reading, watching, hanging …I do want to get the 15 remaining items for the Lenten challenge put it in the donation bin at church before the day ends the only other plan I have is to Take the puppy for a WALK (all caps because I had to spell it out as puppy is within earshot). Last night I did accomplish what I had planned. I paid an important bill and went to the ATM. I bought some cat food; I picked up puppy from daycare. I paid the lawn care guy and I went to church. I have some cleaning I want to do but I’m going to hold myself free of any commitments. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning bree! Enjoy your commitment free day, I know how precious those are then you have a busy schedule!
After my last list I went outside to do 30 minutes in the yard. Today it's so warm that I was overdressed, the sun is out and that makes the difference. I did some weed pulling although I couldn't keep going at the place I did yesterday because I would have had to put my knee pad into the dirt and it's too muddy for that this morning, so I did some more on the edges. I also started digging up the lilies, they are several inches tall now and I want to get them out before they grow any more. Not only is it easier to dig them now, I will feel worse the bigger they get. I just don't want them there anymore, there are so many other pollinator friendly things that could grow there, plus they are doing worse each year so they needed care if they were going to stay there and thrive.
I was hoping to be able to grow some of that sunflower-like plant that was by the porch, they would be ideal for that spot--but the seeds I collected are not germinating. Sunflower seeds, and Tithonia seeds germinate quickly, so it's not that I'm not being patient enough. I found another flower that looks sort of like the one by the porch, but it doesn't have the same growth pattern and the leaves are slightly different--there's something called false sunflower which is Heliopsis helianthoides. Close, but not the same. I have two Mexican sunflower seedlings growing really well that could go there, with salvia around them. Whatever goes there, I don't want the lilies.
Yesterday I turned the second rain barrel right side up and this morning it's full to the top with last night's rain. That's another job I'm doing slowly, refilling all the empty water bottles on the enclosed back porch with rain water.
I have to rest for a little bit, that short yard session tired me out.

Oh, and did I mention that I saw a cabbage white butterfly yesterday? The first of the year--I don't know what it could be eating, except maybe creeping charlie flower nectar. There is some controversy as to whether putting out sugar water is helpful--I think I might put some fruit slices on the little dish that I tried to use last year as a "puddler". I don't see how that would be harmful.

Diane you are so compassionate!
So I have to give up my slothful ways now! i just played outside quite a bit with puppy. It is cold here but sunny.
I am going to drink some coffee and work on bills due this pay period and cleaning my dining room table. I cannot believe how much I drown in paper! I am ruthless for the most part - sending stuff right to the recycling bin or shredder from the mail box, but the mail carrier just keeps bringing more! One reason is a choice I made - I still opt to receive paper bills as a visual trigger to pay them! I don't just want emailed copies, I don't go on my personal email enough. And certain bills I do not want on autopay...
then The Lenten Challenge: The Final Episode.

Bree, I like paper copies of bills too--it's too easy to get distracted and forget about a payment otherwise. I put my bills on my reminder calendar but they also sit in a container near my computer, and just seeing paper sticking up out of it makes me look at them once in a while so I know which payments are coming up.
I'm eating lunch now. After my last list I checked for mail and it was here already--for the past week it's been coming early, maybe there's a substitute carrier or something. Anyway, my order of 25 checks came--I finally gave up on hearing from the bank and ordered a small amount of checks from Vistaprint. I only use 2-3 a year so these will last me for a long time.
So, I pulled out my state income tax forms which have been waiting for me to get checks, wrote the check for what I owe, and it's in an envelope waiting to be mailed. I made it with a couple of weeks to spare.
It's clouding up outside, if it's not raining by the time I finish lunch I'm going to try going outside again.

the only other plan I have is to Take the puppy for a WALK (all caps because I had to spell it out as puppy is within earshot). I used to have to spell out the word "P A R K" in front of one dog. And I had to spell out the word "R I D E" in front of another dog.

Hi Everyone! Thanks for getting the weekend started lennon ! Congratulations catcats ! Diane that is so good of taking care of the butterflies! I took Good Friday off and have slept (napped) most of Friday and today! I am starting to feel alive again so I need to try to get things done while I can. I just talked to an organized/productive friend who is inspiring! Nothing is going to get done unless I do it - so i need to get doing it ! I need to start working to make my life better in the future! Plus i have to work on taxes and need to dig some paperwork up for mother. Happy Easter everyone who is celebrating Easter ! First up is turning down the space heater. I feel really warm especially as I have been sleeping under the blanket most of the day (except for food breaks, bio breaks, and kitty breaks). OMG i just typed i was taking breaks from my napping . Yes indeed napping has been my job for the last two days and even if I say so myself I have been more than meeting napping expectations. First up is just a trash and recycle run and setting up at least 3 donation boxes to toss stuff into (prior to the run so I can toss, recycle, donate, or peep). Then I need to get a load of clothes going and start folding and putting up clothes. I already picked up dishes so washing dishes is on the list too. bree that is so funny about puppy. You may have to switch code words around as puppy gets older as kitty got to know that milk and M-I-L-K were the same thing and he loved the little boxes of Cat sip kitty milk (not really kitty milk but hydrolyzed cow milk that was digestible for kitties).

Hello all. There's now a thread for support in filling out forms, for anyone interested. The link is here: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/34440/Of course, like all threads here, use it if it helps you; but feel free to ignore it. (I know that sometimes extra threads can be irrelevant, distracting, or too much.) Do whatever's best for you.
