I used to be a member of Squalor Survivors and I just found my way here tonight. How fun to see some names I recognize! I was sitting in my rather messy living room and thinking how much I used to enjoy the chat room cleaning sessions on Saturday mornings. Then I thought to check back and see what happened post-Squalor Survivors.
Glad to be back!

Welcome! I have just discovered working in chat. Wow is it a great way to get stuff done. Not such a chore when others are "with" you. I would love to do a Saturday morning chat/clean session! Look forward to seeing you here.

Hello, Lorraine! Good to have you here! Chat is great. I've only participated in one so far, but it really helped to get things done. I 'd chat for a few minutes, then go and get things done, then come back and report about it, and get congratulations, ... and then repeating that over and over again. Hi Driver mom! Thanks so much for asking after the infamous LUIGI THE LOVEBIRD. Luigi is doing very well, although he is now a certified monster. He's taken over all sorts of areas of my home, but I can't stop him because he's so CUTE. If anyone wants to control me, just be unbearably cute. Luigi the Lovebird is the greatest bird who ever lived.
Two years ago Luigi became ill with a fungal infection in his respiratory system. He wasn't expected to live. But he did live after a mighty battle in the hospital and lengthy nursing by me at home.
His fungal infection was likely caused by my SQUALOR.
What a wake up call. I posted my agony on Squalor Survivors and received wonderful support. But I'm sure glad he lived (the vet couldn't believe it and said Luigi was the "bravest and yellowest bird [she] had ever met.")
I am updating the Hand and Beak website soon because I have a new valentine's day card. Perfect for a lovebird and a crazy bird lady.

welcome back lorraine! i love your paper mosaic collages! so nice to share this journey with you. i live in a 600' apt. that is mostly art studio; very challenging, isn't it, to mix art and domestic home life?
great website, fun and creative! does luigi get a "cut" of the profits in birdfood? he is so creative, and what a talented beak. you two make a great team!
