Hello, I'm Christmasshopper. I'm a married mum of two with a huge gap twelve and a half year gap between my children. The big one has left home and lives 200 miles away and the little one is at school. My husband works away from home, so I spend a great deal of time on my own...and I think there lies the problem. I sometimes need a bit of encouragement to get on and do some housework because I keep finding other things I'd rather be doing. When my daughter started school I thought it would be a good idea to get a dog for some company. I guess I knew at the back of my mind that dogs are hairy. But why did no-one warn me just how hairy they actually are? Or how much mud they bring in? Or why they woof so much and leave nose prints on my windows? Anyway, I'm here because my online friend Gryfon pointed me in this direction. It's nice to be here and have someone to chat to. But if you see me here for too long could you just remind me that I've got housework to do. CS x

welcome christmasshopper !
you must be in england - "married mum." so sweet !!!!
you have come to the right place. i think we all would rather do something fun other than housework. i keep on finding excuses to stay away from my home - when i am there the clutter and chaos make me feel guilty and ashamed.
i found that looking at the before and after photos of room on this web site was a real encouragement. i am not the only one with the squalor problem. in the past i thought it was just me. being here and getting encouraged is just what i need !
welcome, and hope to see many more posts from you.
cheers !

Welcome, ChristmasShopper !
In this house, I must sweep up enough cat hair every month to knit myself a litter of kittens. So, you have my sympathy, although I have never been brave enough to try a dog.
The "I'd rather do anything besides housework" bug is rather common among us, so you are with others who understand. If you feel comfortable doing so, come on in to the chat room and ask someone to challenge you to 15 minutes of work at a time. That's the only way anything gets done in my house.
I'm glad you are here.

We already have 2 things in common! My children are 11 1/2 years apart. And I would rather do a million things besides clean. As is obvious by my messy home. So welcome! Stay a bit, but not too long you have housework to do.

Thank you for your lovely warm welcomes. I have had a busy day today. Mr CS is due home tonight so I've been busy doing the jobs he thinks I do all week. Now I need to find the chatroom.

a huge twelve and a half year gap between my children Welcome Christmas! I am almost 12 years older than my brother: I think he is my best friend. We are doing a work errand together today; then going to the gym together for a reward afterwards. This is NOT the first time we have arranged our day like this: . He is 48; I am 60. No place in our lives for sibling rivalry. Luv from Script

Welcome, ChristmasShopper. Glad that Gryfon showed you the way here. Keep reading, and posting. Oh, and to find your way to chat, just look at the top of the page, in the little bar beneath the little feet. Over to the right it says "chat". Just click on that and you are on your way to lots of support!

welcome christmasshopper! glad you found us! we all would rather do other stuff besides housework. the only time i get housework done is working with these sos sibs, or if i am resistant to doing something else worse and use housework to procrastinate that. works good for me! you're with your tribe now!
