I joined last summer and posted for like a week. Then fell off the face of the earth. I was really excited about joining this board because you guys are such inspiration to better myself! Anyway, these were my intro threads, one about my issues and the other more personal. takeonestepatatime.proboards80.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=intro&thread=1510&page=1#13912takeonestepatatime.proboards80.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=other&thread=1520&page=1#13871The reason I left is because I ended up leaving my husband. Things had been bad for a while and I'd been toying with the idea for a long, long time but all the sudden %hit hit the fan and I just up and left. I took my DD's medical stuff and a box of clothes and then went back for the rest later. I went to my mom's and then found my own place...a little two-bedroom loft-style townhouse. Very cute and affordable. Even without my husband's messes and packrat tendencies, I have a difficult time keeping on top pf things. I'm handling it much better though because I have my own space and I'm not being told not to touch things. So I decided I should come back and try again. I've been making wall organizers for the kids and I've been trying to keep the clutter down. I still have a lot of goals I need to reach. I'm seeing a guy who I've known since elementary school and he's the opposite...complete neat-freak. I'm more motivated to stay on top of things because I don't want him to think I'm a pig. The upside is if I end up with him, at least he would never let me get out of control. Overall I feel much better having my kids in a cleaner environment. My DD's care has become extremely complex and I wouldn't be able to manage it if I hadn't become more organized. Every time she needs a new med or treatment I think I can't possibly handle any more, but then I find the time in my day to do it, and a place in the house for the equipment. She's helped a lot to teach me responsibilty.

What a rollercoaster ride you have been on, but to mix metaphors , it seems like you are riding the crests of the waves. I am more of a newbie here than you and thus cannot say "welcome back", so will just say WELCOME!

Welcome back, Shauna. I'm sorry that your marriage is over, but it certainly sounds like you have made great strides in reclaiming your life, and building a home for you and your kids. And you are even building a new relationship. You go, girl!
