Hi everyone I just found this site last night when I was in need of some inspiration. I post regularly on some "mom" boards and we post our to do lists there which does help, I do get things done every day. What I can't share on those types of boards is that when I "run the dishwasher" or "fold the mountain of laundry", those jobs are not near done. Maybe if I ran the dishwasher two more times that day, or folded the mountain RANGE............ Anyway, this seems like a great place to be able to share the entire picture, maybe with real pictures Some things about me: 1. I am mom to a large family 2. we homeschool so my house is full of people all.day.long 3. my mom is messy, but tends to pile things better, she has lots of stacks, my mess is all over. 4. I have always been messy, this is not an issue of overwhelm. 5. I guess I am in stage 2 and fight like **** not to become stage 3. 6. I likely have ADD and a touch of OCD with perfectionist tendencies. 7. I volunteer alot, am a "joiner", have alot of hobbies.....in other words I am very very busy. 8. We have a houseful of pets, currently numbering 9. 9. I am addicted to the internet, it is a great distraction for me 10. I am a wealth of random trivia and can find ANYTHING on google, try me I am sure many of you can relate to one or more things on my list. Over the years I have met many messies, flybabies, SHE's, and we all seem to be very similar in alot of ways. Guess that is what got us in this mess!

Hello and welcome home sister! I'm glad you are here with us. You sure seem to have a full plate, but glad you are working to keep your home under control. You will find lots of wonderful people here just full of great advice. (Love that you are a font of trivial info. I seem to have a knack for that sort of thing too. )

Welcome, Messyjedi. You know what? You are really living life to the fullest! Maybe if you could exchange some of the internet time for organizing time you could get a lot more done around the house and still enjoy your many activities. We homeschooled for seven years, my house is full of animals, and I love trivia, too.

Welcome, MessyJedi !
You and I match on several points:
I have 4 kids, which most people these days consider a large family.
I still homeschool the youngest two.
My mom is messy, but my dad is Mr. Neatnick Clean and always made enough money to have a maid, so our house growing up was neat.
I have always been messy, also.
We are at stage 2 and descend into 3 temporarily when the kids take food to their rooms and leave it or the animals leave "presents" around the house for me to find.
I tend toward depression, and am OCD about having my kitchen and bathrooms spotless and sanitized daily.
I volunteer and join things and do things -- church janitor, Sunday School teacher, cat rescue society volunteer, etc.
We have a houseful of pets -- 5 cats, a squirrel, a snake, and however many foster cats I am bottle feeding at any give time (7 as of today).
I am addicted to the chatroom on this site -- it keeps me sane and gets me doing stuff.
I could never match you on number 10, though, so I won't even try!
All this to say, you've come to the right place, we are the extreme end of the people on those other boards.
It's good to have you here.

You are so right eatingbonbons, more time cleaning combined with less STUFF would certainly fix my problem. If only putting that plan into action was that easy......... Wow Mimi, we have alot in common! I have never met anyone with a pet squirrel before though

messymimi I knew I was extreme, and I knew I was the "end," but I appreciate that everyone here is kind enough not to tell me Which end I am! I'm glad you're here. This is a very loving and supportive place, and you will find understanding, probably like no where else. Welcome!

and welcome! I love large families. I wanted one, but it was not to be. I am thinking of home schooling my youngest if his school does not grant my zone variance. I am a messy. I guess I have always been one, but my mother kept it at bay. My Hubby is a hoarder and there is the biggest obstacle to my clean house dream. I look forward to seeing you. I too am a trivia person. My brain seems to be able to store that stuff but don't ask me my Hubby's cell number! I love Google and Ask.com.
