Hi to you all. It has been a real long time since I visited this site.I gave up on myself and my so called home. So in saying this I am trying to pick up the pieces of my life and having a desire to provide a cleaner safer home that me and my family can be proud of. I have thrown and given so much clothing away as of last year. Yet still seems like the piles never ever go away. I am buried with all kinds of stuff papers toys stuff I hardly use. I don't have the room and or storage for all these things. I see hoarding tendencies in my other family members now as well and it scares me. I watch countless videos online regarding decluttering yet I am not sure where to start or just plan *** to do anything about it. I am a single parent who suffers with possible a.d.d depression anxiety and who knows what else. I am a procrastinator and lack motivation . So in saying all this I am once more trying to dust off myself and going to attempt to get it together. Hopefully one day I could encourage someone else who struggles with the horrible way of living and provide some type of hope. Blessings to you all.

I am once more trying to dust off myself NO NO NO! under NO circumstances should you start with dusting. NO! Start with obvious trash! Start with something easy (ugly clothes to trash and/or give away pile)! Start with something FUN (clean sheets on your bed)! Start by congratulating yourself on posting here! Dusting is for later. a tongue-in-cheek welcome from Script (who hates dusting)

Welcome! Glad you have joined us. I agree with Script about dusting! Where do all the clothes and toys come from?! I think they multiply at night when no one is looking. As a single parent you have a lot on your plate. Are the children of age to assist? I find that even when my kids were little they could do things to help clean and they really enjoyed seeing a job well done. If you can come join us in chat! 15 minutes of cleaning and the 15 minutes of chatting and encouragement. Good for my short attention span. Working In Threes is also a great help. Just 3 little things. Amazing how they begin to add up. AND the kudos from everyone is a great motivator to do more. I look forward to seeing you!

welcome- you have already started in a way although it seems that you have gone no where you do have less than you would have - if you had not already given some things away or tossed- this is a step that shows you that you can do this- sometimes it is hard to see that but if we look at what we attempted or did do - it is a sign of Hope- hugs and blessings

Hello, NoRoom4Anything. What a great name you have chosen! I hope that in time, you will have "plenty of room for the good stuff".
I am glad that you found us. We had one member (Inga Rea) at the old forum, Squalor Survivors, who would watch the on-line videos about cleaning for a set amount of time, then clean for that amount of time. She found it very inspiring, and she really got a lot done. Might be worth a try.

I find that even when my kids were little they could do things to help clean and they really enjoyed seeing a job well done. I swear, I wish my money would multiply in my billfold like my laundry seems to overnight, !! Welcome! You have definitely come to the right place. There are a lot of wise, encouraging people here. It took me 5 years, but I finally desqualored, and you can do it, too. Different methods work for different people, so the best thing is to just keep trying until something works. There are a lot of great ideas here. Take care and good luck!!! BF Edit: I forgot to say that including the kids is an excellent idea. My SO's 6 y/o son is a great helper and just beams when he is praised. Plus, a little monetary motivation helps him, too, haha! He picks up his toys and, oddly enough, enjoys vacuming the stairs with a hand-held vac, so that is "his" job. I'm sure you can come up with some great ideas that fit your family!

Welcome, NoRoom4Anything !
That is a great name. I also have no room for anything else, but my parents won't get the idea.
Anyway, never give up. Rest up, look up, dial up (online, with this group or another if you want), keep your chin up, pray a lot. Never, ever give up.
It's good to have you here.

hi to you all, thanks for all the warm welcomes and encouragement. It is kind of comforting to know you are not alone and the ones that struggle with the same issues could understand and the ones who went through the struggle and ended up on the other side say there is hope. God Bless.
