Last night I found out that the bank wants to arrange an inspection of my home, as part of the re-organization of my line of credit. I need the money NOW, so I need to have the inspection NOW. As in 'tomorrow at 11:00am". Yes, I am cleaning up in preparation. Yes there is dust and junque and various unsightly bits of real life everywhere. I do not live in a magazine.....BUT I was sort-of exhilarated about the inspection. Because? In Oct'04 when I joined Squalor Survivors, I could not have imagined: *living in a house with all fully working appliances *living in a house with a decent laundry room *living in a house with a mostly CLEAN kitchen *living in a house that is almost neat everyday. Before Oct'04: I lived in a house with water-logged plaster, falling-down-ceilings, rotting wood, termite damage, unsafe electrical outlets, faulty plumbing, broken windows, stained carpet, mildew, mould, and general NEGLECT. Also 25 years of dust in the library room. I could NEVER ever EVER have considered having an IMPORTANT 'guest' over on less than a day's notice. The bank might feel happy that I have used the money which I borrowed to enhance the value of my home. I feel PROUD that I have accepted that I deserve a clean, safe, healthy, happy environment. thanks to all who have helped me on my journey.
