Finally posting after MONTHS of just reading mostly. First- what level is it when the DEAD animal is laying there for 2 weeks? !!!!!!! off the scale maybe. I remember laying in bed, bed was in the living room. Looking all around, complete mess everywhere!! Once my sister tried to get into the apartment, couldn't, my closet was next to the front door, couldn't open the door!!! she had to climb over the neighbors balcony!!! pretty bad. I am hopefully a reformed squaloree, but have never felt CURED. Need to stay on top of the mess or I feel like it wouldn't take much for me to slip right back. I realize that I am not a neatnick at heart. I am either messing or cleaning, never cleaning as I go. Missed that gene!! So anyway Hi to all!!!

Thank you for introducing yourself and joining in sharing on SOS! This is such a wonerful place to be. Since you have already achieved so much in de-squaloring, you will be a great source of encouragement! Congradulations for "coming out of the closet!" (And that your sister can now get in past your closet - ! Thank you for sharing that

I think that's how alot of us feel. It's pretty scary. But if you have been reading here for months, then you already know that! Glad you came out of the shadows to post. Welcome home.

Hi and Welcome! I know how you feel about staying on top of the mess. I too feel that pressure. I don't have that "clean as you go" gene either but I have been working on it a lot and I'm getting more into the habit and it really does help. Don't give up!!!!!

Welcome, 3Sweet !
While you are afraid of slipping back, I am afraid of never getting there to begin with. Thank you for encouraging us that it can be done.
It's good to have you here.

Very Pleased to meet you 3 sweet!
And I'm very happy that you have come out with an intro. I myself, never joined for years but kept coming back time after time to read what people wrote about their messes. These stories helped me more than I can ever express. So a big welcome to you!

If the animal was your pet, I am sorry for its loss. If it was a wild thing, then shame on it for dying inside! I had a mouse skeleton in my bedroom once...but that is a tale for another time.
Welcome, 3SweetBabiesGranny. And may I mention that I am a little envious....I have my first grandson on the way, due the end of August. I just can't imagine have 3 of the little darlings!
Welcome to our little corner of the world. I don't exactly clean as I go, but sometimes when things don't look "bad" to me yet, but no longer look clean, I will pick a number, for example 6. Then I look for 6 things in the room that are out of place. Somehow, once I start looking for something, I can often find a small pile of mail, or dirty socks under the table, or other small things to fix. It only takes a brief moment, but then I give myself a pat on the back. Sure, its a little like learning a foreign language, but we can do it.

Hello 3Sweet, I have just joined as well and I'm so excited that this forum even exists! I'm one of those "just moved to a new apartment" squalerors. But this time I swear I'll keep it up. Maybe you and I can be partners in this and hold each other accountable, like when two people go on a diet together. ;~)

Oh, I meant to add . . . .. I have never had a deceased critter in my home but have actually found a live kitten who had crawled up through the floorboards of this old shack I used to rent many years ago!

closing eyes works well for me 3sweet.
pleased to hear that dead animals were the result of a sad accident and not something more sinister.
