Well, here I am, messy house, messy life and all. I separated from the STBX (soon-to-be-ex) Nov 1. I was the one who moved out. Lots of stuff in boxes. My son got married (out of town) Dec 13. Lots of stuff still in boxes. Got a roommate in Jan. Lots of stuff still in boxes. Totaled my car Feb 20 due to an "altered mental state." That means I passed out, blanked out, or fell asleep at the wheel. Ran into 2 parked cars. Lots of stuff still in boxes. Not allowed to drive. Short-term disability from work. Still not back to work. Still don't know why I wrecked. Now appears to be related to sleep deprivation. I've been home from work for over 2 months now. Lots of stuff still in boxes. No motivation. There's lots more, like I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, so I don't feel good lots of days. I have 3 dogs who shed profusely. More work. I found this site through a lady on a yahoo group and it sounded like maybe it could help me get motivated. We'll see. I hope it works.

Welcome Lilysmom! The last six months have been a real load for you. Welcome to a practical and caring and encouraging group of people. Come often and share your successes and your failures. We'll be here either way. There are a variety of ways to get some things done. We do believe that action often precedes motivation! Again Welcome!

Nice to meet you Lilys Mom,
You've had lots and lots of changes lately=stress. May I encourage you to take one step at a time and tell us about your accomplishments as they happen. These boxes represent parts of your life ,all boxed up. Your past and perhaps your (married) child's past as well. They may be a little tough to deal with right away. Perhaps you can somehow get all of these boxes out of your living space so you can focus on feeling better. When you are strong enough you can open the first box and work on it for a short period of time maybe 15 minutes. You can tell us what you have organized and found a home for , what you have donated ,what you have thrown away and you can even tell us what you can't manage to get out of there and we will try to help you.

Hi Lilysmom and welcome!
I think it's possible I am the one who suggested you come here... I have made that suggestion to several people in the past, and one fairly recently, as I believe this is the BEST place for ongoing support and motivation.
With the chat option too, you can get real time support, and join in short challenges where we get things done! Or just join chat to chat... or listen. You don't have to chat in there if you don't want. Some people are too shy to start with, and that's fine. You welcome to just come in and glean info and inspiration from what others are saying. Just say hi... if you like... or not. Whatever works for you. Hope to see you in there sometime!

Welcome, LilysMom !
You have come to the right place, but you are not a mess, you have a mess. You can overcome this.
It's good to have you here.
