1. I got a PM yesterday telling me my profile says I am 18. That was put on there by the computer-rescue-type-person who helped me sign up for SOS to start with. I guess he thought is was funny. I looked at it to see if I could modify it but don't see a modify option. Can you please help me correct that?

I looked at it to see if I could modify it (Profile birthdate) but don't see a modify option. Can you please help me correct that? Unfortunately, since the age of 13 is a requirement to join, there isn't a way to alter the age once you've signed up. (It prevents kids from saying "Oops! I should have put in an older birthdate!") I can't change it for you either. I'm sorry. You have the choice of being perpetually younger than your age, or deleting the account, then signing up under the same name, but corrected birthdate. If you start completely over, let me know the number of posts you made at the time and I'll correct the number on your new Profile.

According to this: support.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=support&thread=198622if a member chooses to delete her own account and then rejoin to correct her profile .... this action would also delete all her stored Private Messages. The PM's would not reappear when the member rejoined under same username. (Good way to declutter one's private messages!) So a member would have to save any important Private Messages into a word document before deleting her own account. --------

- So... I'm wondering ... it would seem that if a member deletes her account, then ALL of her profile is gone, including her "profile bookmarks". So she'd have to save her favorite threads elsewhere in her browser or in an email to herself, or something. Right? -

Right? - You could make note of them and reset them once the new Profile is up and running, Lioness. You wouldn't get the pms back, though, so download those first. I offered this as a suggestion, still, but truthfully people don't normally take it if they have more than a handful of posts. As Lioness indicates, you lose things this way. Depends on which is more important to you, the birth year or the pms. (Remember, no one but you needs to see it. You can select the preference to turn off the display.)

Turning off the option for others to view the display sounds like my best bet. Thank you for all of your help - both of you. You are truly board angels!
