On Saturday, the USA will be celebrating its Independence Day. So I guess it is fitting that today I declared Amnesty for myself regarding a glass jar of spoiled food. Normally, I would dump the food in the trash, clean the jar, and recycle it.
So what is your Declaration of Amnesty?

So, Simplegifts, did you just toss the jar as-is? There are times when I can't bear to clean something (namely Tupperware that my husband has left sitting in the car for ages) and I just toss it. He let some chili get moldy and really stinky, but it was in a good pot that I couldn't toss, so I sat it out on the back porch and let the critters get most of the nasty out of it for me. I half-hoped that it would be bad enough to kill the raccoon, but given that our garbage can was turned over this weekend while we were gone, I'm thinking he's still out there. At least I didn't have to scrape it out (and smell it while doing it).

I tossed a pair of pants that are good and did fit but did not fit right in the waste and did not feel comfortable---I decided not to save them to give away- I have been tossing more things than giving - if I have to toss glass bottles I try to put them into a type of box like a milk carton or wrap very well in case of breakage- re my garbage man- he is so kind and always takes more than he should so I am careful of him--
