My husband was informed on Monday that he will be laid off and his last day is this Friday! He called me today to email his reference letter because he is applying for a job. The problem is the job is not here where we are living. We have lived here for 6+ yrs and have had two children here. Unfortunately the employment ties my husband has is back in AZ where we used to live. He is a commercial Real Estate Property Manager and with the economy the way it is... he doesn't think he will be able to find anything locally. I could just throw up! I don't want to discourage him and flat out say no to a move. If he can't find anything here we will have to move. We went through this almost a year ago but he was able to go work for a friend's company. Now that company is not doing well and hence he is now out of work again. The company he used to work for paid for our move here but I'm afraid with the bad economy, if he does get a job out of state, they may not give us the money to move. To think about all of my hoarded stuff and the cost that it will take to move it? $$$ I don't know what to do. I have been making baby steps and now I just want to crawl into bed and cry! I really like where we live. My son just started Kindergarten in a really good school. The schools in AZ are not as good as here. If we have to end up moving, it will be so difficult in so many ways. I should try to step up on the purging of stuff but I am frozen and feeling so sick at the moment. Just needed to share... Packy

Deep breaths, until you relax.
This is very distressing and upsetting, I know. Acknowledge that. It can help you unfreeze.
If you do end up moving, know that you have been given both a challenge and a tremendous opportunity. You can start tossing and keep tossing and vow to move absolutely nothing that you do not love and use. Ask yourself starting now, even before you know if you will move, "Do I want to pay for someone to move this?" If not, out it goes.
I hope you get to stay where you are. I hope you use this opportunity to think of what items in your home are worth taking along when you have to pay to keep them.

I feel your pain, packy, having just had to move myself. Best of luck!
