My name is Erin, and my mom came up last weekend to help me clean and organize my apartment. I started to realize that I have a terrible tendency to keep everything if I think I might be able to use it, and I am worried that I have hoarding tendencies that could become more of a problem in the future. Does anyone have suggestions of things I can do now that will help me change my behavior before it gets out of control? I don't want it to take over my life, I want to always feel like I have have friends over for dinner and not be worried about having so much junk or what they will say about it. My apartment looks pretty good now (we got rid of about 8 trash bags full of trash and another 10 of recycling), but I want to keep it that way, and more importantly, change the behavior and way that I think about stuff. Any suggestions you all have would be so appreciated!!

Here's a question to ponder: Was it pretty easy for you to let the 18 bags of stuff go? Or did you agonize over individual items?
