This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.) EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple: - Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing. Once you have 3 things done, post them here.- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again. [/color] Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post. Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da! If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you. Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM![/b]

Good Morning, Rosebud. Thank you for starting this thread. I woke up an hour and a half ago (it was 5:30am,) but couldn't make myself get up. I'm regretting it now, as I feel groggy. Wonder why that is?? Anyway, I want to get a lot done today. Tadas: Got up. Made coffee. Read e-mails. Todos: Recycle laundry. Take a shower and get dressed. Unload / Load dishwasher (I didn't do it before bed )

Creativechaos, great job at decluttering storage unit -- even though you may not have gotten rich from the proceeds, think of the money you'll save once you are spending less on storage. My storage unit decluttering is taking the same slow speed yours is. But I'm confident that you'll conquor the storage clutter monster. You've been really dedicating yourself to turning things around, and we all see it here on WIT.
Syzygy, you're off to a good start.
Merrymaid, you achieved an amazing amount on Sunday morning before church. WTG!
And Rosebud, thanks for again cheering us with your colors and flowers and kitty.
TADAs from last night: 1. A little more work on garden 2. Relocated the canning supplies to reduce visual clutter And this morning 3. Up/meds/made bed 4. Put about 5 or 6 things which were scattered back to where they belong.
TODOs: 1. Breakfast 2. Church 3. Meeting with someone at church
once I come back and am awake I'll figure out what I will do at home and post again this afternoon

Oy! It's afternoon already, and I've barely gotten started! I finally got some sleep, though, so it's all good.
Thanks for starting the thread, Rosebud.
Good for you, merrymaid, for getting an early start.
Good luck with the kitchen reclaiming, syzygy.
Congrats, creativechaos, for getting your ex-boyfriend's stuff out of your storage unit. Every bit helps! WTG on all the other work done, too.
Go, WestsideStory! You were up and about and cleaning up WAY before I woke up.
As for me:
DONE: -dressed, sort of (need to shower later) -filled weekly pill container -took morning meds -ate lunch
TO DO: -change bed linens -empty the dishwasher -fold/hang and put away a load of laundry
Back with more later.

Thanks so much for your kind and encouraging words, Westside. I am renting another storage unit (smaller) so I paid double last month, and will pay double for the first half of this month. The more I lift and sort, the easier it gets to see the insane pattern of thinking that got me here. This is only the tip of the iceberg of what there still is left to do. I'm still fairly attached and unwilling to part with many books or art supplies. WTG on getting more done on your garden and rearranging the canning stuff to reduce visual clutter. 'Morning, Bluefrog! So glad you got some better sleep, and are on your way this morning. ta das: breakfast and did those dishes carried up 2 more boxes of books from storage unit summer bedspread and sleeping bag out of dryer and ironed the summer bedspread to dos: unload some more stuff from car that goes in the apt. for now (until I sort it) go to garden and water, it was 85 yesterday and is supposed to be the same today go to storage unit and decide if my back can take more lifting. If so, go to exchange with a carload of stuff. If not, postpone until Wednesday and relax today-- I've earned it. Hope you all have a great rest of the day!

Hey folks! No time for personals... about to take advantage of a sleeping baby.
Ta Da:
1) Got up, got dressed 2) Went to church 3) went to grocery store to get the one thing I needed to make supper
Todo:
1) nap 3) More working on clothes 3) Mail sold ebay item 4) Kill husband's boss who keeps wanting him to work on Sundays when that's the only day my husband usually gets off. Working 14 days straight, in construction, with imperfect sleep because of a newborn = a recipe for disaster. Either his health will fail him, or he'll hurt himself at work.
