This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.) EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple: - Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing. Once you have 3 things done, post them here.- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again. [/color] Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post. Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da! If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you. Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM![/b]

Good Morning Everyone. I'm feeling blah... I don't want to go to work... but I'm going. My mind keeps trying to put excuses as to why I could call out, but I'm not going to do it. I actually like my job... I think it's just the getting up and going I hate! Kind of like hiking or camping... I hate the preparations, but love it when I get there!! Tadas: Made coffee / tea Took 2 pair of shoes to the laundry room. I need to come up with a better system for storing shoes. Took 2 hershey bar wrappers from the end table and tossed them in the trash (no wonder my tummy hurts this morning!!) Todos: Shower, brush teeth, wash face Get dressed Get back with stuff together and leave for work by 7am. Hope you all have a great day!

Merrymaid- that's a lot for so early! Congrats I'm running on about empty here. I'm just praying I last till Friday. If i get my work done and don't hvae to work the holiday, I have friday off. I need it badly at this point. That said, I got to talk with my boss for a little while yesterday and got to mention (she was like, go ahead and vent, which of course i did a little and didn't go overboard, it is my boss) to her some of the issues I have had with a coworker, she laughed (not demeaningly, I regularly crack her up with how I say things), and then told me that EVERYONE in the office has the same problem with this particular person. (She is not his boss, so she cannot do anything other than relay the issue). That is at least a relief in that it's not me, and the difficulties we're having in getting the team to work aren't entirely on my head. Much less work stressed me right now. Anyways enough with the novel writing this morning TaDas 1. Up before 8 2. Dressed before 8 3. Teeth are brushed before 8 These are feats in my world to have done anything before 8. ToDo 1. Finish morning routine 2. Take the cat to the vet for her shots. 3. Come back, login to my meeting with my headset, then drive to work after it.

ARGH! I've been having endless problems with my downstairs neighbor (the landlady's daughter) over petty theft, vandalism, and (most annoying in a place without enough off-street parking) her constantly blocking the driveway and getting pissed off when I want to get in or out. Last night, I got home at 1:30 after being on the road for 3 hours and she had blocked me again. I knocked on the door- which I had been saying I would do after she blocked me out over and over- and she just ignored me. I've tried talking to her over and over, but she just does what she wants.
So today I called the landlady and said I wanted to meet with her and that I was at the end of my rope. Basically I'm ready to move out if she doesn't fix things- and there is little chance she's going to fix things. So I'm getting myself into a "moving" state of mind. I don't have the time or money, but I'm so fed up, I can't stay here.
The surprise twist? She wants to meet here. In my apartment- the one that has a clean kitchen, but boxes all over as I try to sort/purge. Argh. I have until 8pm to put this stuff in order.
To do * Get everything out of the living/dining room, bathroom, kitchen * Dust, vacuum and neaten

Fortunately I had cleaned (good enough) the living room in order to start my next decluttering job, so I only had to box up the stuff I was working on and get it out. I'm leaving a few boxes in the room marked "Ebay" and "Freecycle" and a couple of packed boxes I don't want to move.
Ta dah * moved boxes of stuff out of living room * neatly stacked and labeled remaining boxes * dusted visible stuff

Good afternoon, folks!
Good luck with your landlady, syzygy. I hope she can force her daughter to reform, so you don't have to move.
DONE: -scooped the cat box -ate lunch and cleaned up after -gave the dog her medicine -filled the new spice organizer--now maybe we won't be forever buying duplicate jars!
TO DO: -empty the old spice rack of outdated spices and put in a box to donate (or maybe list it on freecycle, if I can figure out how) -sweep the hall, eventually -empty the dishwasher (which DH loaded and started--WOOHOO!!)

Still going
Ta dah * Put on new sofacover- it's not on correctly, but it just needs to be there to cover some scratches * Emptied temp boxes (I keep in my sorting area for stuff that goes it other rooms) * finish dusting
That's it. Fortunately I already had the basic stuff done.

Lunch Break!! Halfway through my work day now. Looking forward to getting HOME for evening. Syzygy - wow.........let us know how the meeting goes. I hope that little b*&%h straightens out!! Bluefrog, yipee on the spices! I have to do a similar sort-out of my spices too, and get old ones tossed and good ones put into proper spice containers. Ta Da! 20 mins on treadmill Showered & dressed for work Made several dreaded phone calls! Then went to work and chatted up supervisor to make her happy. Headed back to work in a few mins. When I get home I have some plans: Bring up clean laundry & put away Do dishes in sink Feed kitties & scoop Might have to make a phone call or two as well, but won't know till the end of the day. Hope you all are doing well and progressing, even if it's just a bit at a time. Carrie

Afternoon, everyone! I've been a slug the last couple of days, although I HAVE been keeping up the kitchen, doing the dishes after every meal, even if I don't want to (like last night.)
Bluefrog, posting on Freecycle is easy, just send an email to yourgroupname@yahoogroups.com with the subject line formatted like this: "Offer: Item (location)" (Location isn't required everywhere, but it's still helpful) and include as accurate a description in the body of the email as possible. Details such as available pickup times and how you would prefer to communicate is even more helpful, but i'd recommend against giving addresses or phone numbers on the list (my list bans them) as it's a safety risk.
syzygy - productive as always. You inspire me.
carrie7on - Awesome on those phone calls... I have several dreaded phone calls I've had to make lately myself, so I sympathize.
Alrighty, on to my list!
Ta da:
1) Got up, got dressed 2) Fed kids 3) Drove to mall to meet another mom for a social visit
To do:
Dunno. I'm going to dig around and see what needs to be done. Definitely going to work on the girls' room.

Hi, all. I'm off to a slow and sleepy start this morning (still morning for another 15 minutes here -- ). Had an unusual sudden headache last night. I never get headaches, and this one came up so suddenly that I was worried. I called the advice nurse at my HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) and she said to come in to the ER. So I did. Once there, it did not fit the classic signs of a stroke (which was my big worry) or migraine. They did a CT scan which was negative, thankfully. But as the triage nurse determined I was not a true emergency, I waited a very long time. I am wondering this morning if it might be an atypical migraine. I am somewhat bothered by the light, still. Will follow up with regular MD later. Better safe than sorry. There are drugs that they can give you within the first couple of hours after a stroke which can really help to prevent it from being as bad as it could be. So, don't wait too long to get a possible stroke checked out. I'm glad to see that the rest of you have done so much good work. Merrymaid, Stressedbythemess, Carrie7on -- WTG on having TADAs before heading off to work! Stressedbytheexcessiveworkinghourswhichleadtostressandmess, I hope you can celebrate the holiday weekend away from your boss and coworkers. Syzygy, maybe the planets are aligning to get you a better living situation. Hope your meeting goes well. Bluefrog, I can relate to a slow morning! Glad you're up and about, moving and doing. Freecycle is great, if you can figure out how to get on it. Here, on the other side of the continent, I have actually seen someone looking for extra spices. They would have loved to take them off your hands. TADAs: 1. Up/meds 2. Brunch 3. Dressed TODOs: 1. Go to store to buy birthday present for my sister and mail it. 2. Take dishes out of dishwasher and put new ones in it. 3. Another three items of visible clutter in charity box. (I can't tell you how hard this is becoming, even though there are lots of candidates to choose from!) WestsideStory
