It also works great for removing blood from material. It's a protein inhibitor and with blood being protein it just bubbles it away!!! We use to use it alot on our uniforms at work before colored scrubs came to be. Sure did save alot of out white uniforms. Also does a great job for ladies unmentionables on a monthly basis. SNM

the truth is I have used it in my toothpaste because it was put in there by the manufacturer.....
it is multipurpose stuff that is for sure but I did not know it removed mold...I use bleach to remove mold....friend of mine has a rare 1958 corvette that you may have seen in the photos section with me standing in front of it...she had a moldy top on that vette and said she wanted to buy a new top but could not afford it right now...I looked over the top and said it was a perfectly good top just had mold on it and mildew...so I told her to mix bleach with water and wipe the top off....you can see the results in the pic of her vette afterwards...white as snow top....really works well using bleach to remove mold....as long as you are not afraid of effecting colors....hugs btt

I snort peroxide up my nose when I am having a particularly nasty sinus headache. It is not the best feeling in the world, but helps clear out anything that is causing the headache. My doctor cringed, but didn't advise against it, so it must be ok...

Liz, may I suggest putting the peroxide in a cool mist humidifier instead? Three parts peroxide with 5 parts water.

Still, this is a very interesting topic. I always have had hydrogen peroxide around for minor cuts and scrapes but I didn't know it could compete with bleach in some household uses. Thanks!

And, it's VERY inexpensive. A large bottle (10 ounces) only costs a couple dollars or less.

I use the 20 volume peroxide to make my own facial hair bleach: equal parts 20 volume peroxide and ammonia. Plus enough enough soap flakes to thicken it to the consistency of shaving cream. Apply, leave on 5 minutes, rinse. Repeat if necessary. Costs almost nothing!
I also use 10 volume peroxide (the ordinary strength) as a facial toner. It's especially good for sensitive skin with acne.
Also great for cleaning minor skin infection, and minor skin problem with crusted drainage.
One caveat: you should always store it in its original container, with the cap on (true for everything sold in a brown bottle.) If you leave peroxide exposed to air or light, it turns into water.

SNM, thank you for the tip about getting blood out. My dd will be happy to know about this! Liz, you gave me the giggles about telling your doctor about snorting peroxide! I can just imagine his reaction - ! It makes sense, though! btw - I love your little owl avitar - it is darling! 60, finding that website has been a real help to me, too, especially because of learning that peroxide can compete with bleach. Bleach eats through so many things, and it is environmentally poisonous to so many things and I have an apartment full of aquatic life - plants, etc. I am very, very happy to have an alternative for many things. Can you imagine me trying to pour bleach on my bed?!!! I would have a giant hole instead mold - the cure as bad as the problem! ! HGF, I knew peroxide needs to be kept in it original container or it would lose its potency, but I didn't know it would turn into water! That is so cool! No wonder it is so environmentally safe! Thanks for the info!
